What did ya eat today---Saturday
Hope everybody is having a great weekend! I'm working but thankfully it is short hours so it leaves enough energy for shopping afterward. LOL It was fun mostly but trying on jeans is hard on the ego, the expensive ones look good but I'm too cheap for them. However, I did find a nice pair of casual slacks in a size six. SIX!!! So of course I had to buy them. hahahaha
Today's food:
1) Frosty protein shake
2) 100 cal stallone pudding with 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean (the pudding is about to expire so I have to eat it soon!)
3) 140 cal prot. bar
4) 1 oz. soy crisps, 1/2 cup strawberries
5) the insides of a chicken-apple sausage
6) prob. a cup of marinated cucumbers
I'm way too high on protein today but I bet I will have a lot of energy tomorrow from it. We'll see!
What did you eat?
My weekends are horrible for keeping track, as hubby has really odd shift (usually two doubles) and then I work OT on weekends too.
Breakfast - 1:30pm - Half a chicken burrito (insides): chicken, beans, lettuce, sour cream & salsa
Lunch - 5:30pm - Tasty Shrimp from Panda Express with mixed veggies & chow mein. About a total of 20 bites of everything, with eating my shrimp and veggies first. Probably about 5 bites of chow mein.
Dinner - 9pm - 3 oz beef jerky
And now it's technically tomorrow, Sunday, but I'm working on my water for the day, as I've only gotten in about 16oz.
Hi Molly! Sounds like a great Sat. menu! What kind of 140 cal. protein bars do you eat?
I was eating the south beach diet 140 cal. bars with 10 gr. protein, but my bariatric center got a new bar in call Tiny Meal 15 - 145 cal. and 15 gr. protein - very good. Atkins bars taste good and have 17-20 protein but I stoppped eating them because they have @ 220 cal. each. Anyway, always looking for a good bar... thanks, Rebecca
I looked at the South Beach bars but the sugar alcohols scared me off...sometimes it makes me dump and the only time I eat protein bars is when I'm out and about and that isn't the time to take that kind of risk. So I have a variety of bars that run between 100-220 calories and the sugar alcohols are now or nil. The bar I had yesterday was a Kashi Honey Almond Flax from a multi pack at Costco. It is 140cal, 5 gr. sugar and 7 gr. protein. Not the highest protein source around but they're very dense and not too sweet so one bar is a very filling meal for me and holds me for about two hours if I can stay away from liquids that long.
Please forgive me but I'm really not in the Atkins Camp. Every Atkins product I've tried has been a complete waste of money because to my taste buds they are so horrible I can't even finish what I sampled and I end up throwing it away. I just don't have Atkins Approved tastebuds, too bad. They certainly do have a nice line of products, I just wish they tasted palatable to me.
