anyone still dump?
"I think one of the reasons some dump on something one time or another doesn't necessarily have to be about that particular food but the rate in which you ingest it also matters."
I think in my case I waited too long to eat, thinking back on it. And then maybe because I waited so long, I may have eaten too quickly. With the carrots I think it was a matter of them being to harsh for my pouch considering the ulcer.
I bought some Ka****oday and will see how I do. I loved it preop...soo...I'm hoping.
Hi Erin,
Sorry that you dumped on Kashi! It is such a good protein and grain source. Like Melissa said, I think how quickly we eat sometimes has something to do with it because I've never tested with real sugars or fatty foods so when I dump it is always on something that should be ok. Most times it is from sugar alcohols and often from eating too quickly. Either way, it isn't pleasant but it is exactly why I always knew RNY surgery was what I needed. Even at goal now it is still enough of a deterrant that it helps me argue my way through a problem food challenge and win. I miss oatmeal too but haven't eaten it since the very earliest days post-op because now it is too soft and i think there are so many other things that could be eaten for the same calorie amount that would stay in the pouch longer. Guess I'm greedy that way but if I have to expend calories on it it either has to be really, really satisfying if it isn't going to hold me long or I go for something more dense.
Molly
Hi molly, you might be right, because I have eaten it before and no problem, but not oatmeal (which I love)
I didn't realize until about 2 mo ago how bad sugar alchols can be until I at a SF hershey pb cup....eeekkk dumped bigtime.
I don't have a gallbladder so I really try not to eat the fatty foods because of the dumping factor. I did dump on refried beans one....go figure. Sorry you had a rough week, I saw your post. Your weekend will be better I'm sure....
Hugs, Erin
