Caught unprepared.
What is the worst choice you have made in what to eat when you were caught unprepared?
Due to cir****tance beyound my control I found myself at an Italian restaurant last evening. There was not much on the menu that I thought I could have. I chose Chicken Parm and just ate some of the meat, cheese and sauce, NO PASTA!
It tasted really good and went down very well, didn't take much to feel full though. I can't help wonder how bad that was for me, because of the breaded chicken.
A Chinese tofu dish. I knew this board meeting was coming up at a Chinese restaurant and I checked out their menu online so I wasn't totally unprepared but there really wasn't anything I could either eat without fear of dumping or something getting stuck or looking like a freak. It was going to be a long meeting and I needed to be able to keep eating with everybody so a little bowl of egg drop soup wouldn't have worked. This tofu dish seemed to fit the bill but it ended up being greasy, too salty, flavorless and it didn't feel good in my pouch or satisfy me. It was just too soft to stay in and I bet I overate because it just kept going in and going in. The only good thing about it was that it WAS protein.
So, it did work in the respect that I was able to sit through the meeting and look like I was eating the same as everybody else but it sure wasn't a satisfying way to spend money or calories.
Your Italian food choice doesn't sound bad at all. I'd have done the same thing but scraped off the breading over the chicken.
