Melissa is at work so I'm plugging this in here for her. I just copied and pasted from her other thread on the bypass board. I hope everybody is having a good weekend and keeping track of food. It is still early here but I'm again trying to pre-plan my day. It really helped yesterday! 1- 4 mini-mini turkey sausage quiches with 2 tab. ff sour cream 2- frosty protein shake 3- a piece of leftover diet cheesecake, 2 tab. sf whipped cream, 1/4 cup blueberries 4- 2 turkey/cheese rollups, 1/2 cup sf baked beans and a small pickle chewed very carefully 5- will prob. have 2 oz. grilled mahi mahi, 1/2 cup grilled zucchini 6- prob. 3/4 cup watermelon Lots of decaf-sun-green tea all day (except during feedings!). I've been gardening on and off all day in between chores in the house. Very good, productive day with a lot of exercise. Molly Green Jeans

do you have a recipe for the quiches or are they store bought? BTW I think the daily posting of what we ate is great, I am to embarresed to post what I have been eating the last week, so I am going to get back on track and try your 6 feedings method and then participate.

Amy, I certainly understand being embarrassed about the food journal. There are plenty of days I choose not to post mine because I go over the 6 feedings even though I may end up at or below my calorie allowance. It just looks like I can't control myself and is embarrassing to me. Still...I've never had a plateau and I made it to the doctor's goal weight so it can't have been all bad. Here is a link to Melissa's recipe and the one I use too. She posted hers a few days ago and I'll try it as soon as my batch is gone. My recipe link is a little further down from hers. Made mine a double batch (big mistake) in those tiny mini-muffin pans and it made a totally huge amount. Should've used a regular muffin tin! I've been working on them for prob. at least two months now. Wish the family would help out but they don't like them. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/12-2006/postdetail/2706.html?vc=0 Enjoy! Molly

Hi Molly, Saturday was bad for me sort of. I noticed you and Melissa eat very little carbs. That is such a good thing it is my goal for today and the rest of the week to stay away from those nasty carbs. Bfast- 1oz cream cheese 6 bites of soft pretzel, 1/2 cup mixed fruit( Iwas at the airport for 2 1/2 hour and that was all that was available) Lunch - 3oz ckn breast w/ melted cheese, side of salsa. 2 oz of 3 bean salad snack - 1/2 cup glazed pecans(to die for) dinner - 3oz halibut, 2oz cup caluflower, 2oz salad, 1oz unsweetned apple sauce

Erin, on the carb thing it is just personal for me. At our support group our leader often mentions how chocolate is a big no-no for her and she just decided when she was post op she was going cold turkey on it and has stayed away from it all these years and it has worked for her. I thought and prayed over it and knew in my heart that processed carbs had to leave my life. But for my health I do try to get in some form of whole grains or more natural carbs. However, if I go over my daily limit of the half-cup Kashi Go Lean then I begin to crave it. Carbs really are evil to me...they suck you in like drugs to a junkie. I just have to stay away from them and my whole program becomes easier. Your food for yesterday sounds good and high in protein. Let us all know how the week of lower carbs works for you. It is really hard to cut them out for about the first two weeks and then it is a snap so keep fighting the urges if it gets tough. Molly
