Hunger and the pouch

Hi Erin: I am right there with you....my eyes are bigger than my stomach on a regular basis. So, I listen to my stomach....but not always, and then I get full and relaize, ah, yes, that's it. Denser foods definitely hit me harder. I always aim for protein first. I love Egg Beaters! I have them every morning, and you can scramble, make an omlet, do just about anything with them. And, they are low in fat and cals, as well as cholesterol, and are good protein. They make all the difference. And yes, I get hungry, and am resisting the urge to snack, which i could do all day if I wanted to. I am also working out daily, which I am told ups my hunger level. I continue to lose (184 today!), and so I just trust that this will all work out, because the lbs keep coming off. I do not see this as a diet, and really get frustrated when I see people pushing the diet mentality on this site. I encourage you to be your own best friend on this journey, and trust that the MD's knew what they were doing with this procedure when it was designed, and allow the process to work. We are at almost 7 months now, and this is about the time we start saying "but I want those last xyz pounds!"...so, I am now hooking up with a bariatric therapist who has done this work 20+ yrs....she is GREAT with reframes! I am learning a lot from her, and hope you will consider finding a specialty therapist in your area if you find yourself with diet mentality. Take care, and "keep up the fire"---this is a fabulous journey! Best, Megan

Megan thank you for your inspiring words and thoughts. I don't know what I would do without this site...I really know what you are saying about the "diet mentality" but I just needs some guidelines for the pleateau I am on, really the plateau buster way of eating is how I should be eating anyway. But again thank you for the kind words. Take care, Erin

Thank God! i thought I was the only one! I feel so much better now! I too freak out by how much I can eat. For lunch today I had the meat and cheese off of a Subway Sandwich with a SF pudding and SF applesauce. I felt like a pig! I still feel like a pig! Does anybody have any good suggestions on things to pack for lunches? I work at a hospital and we all know how that food can be...anyway....I am running out of ideas and I seem to bounce back on lunch meat which is getting old!

Hi Megan, I know the feeling, but I really try to watch the snacking that can get me into trouble. A few things I have been eating for lunch are Tuna Salad w Cucumbers slices, Ckn salad and piece of fruit, Southbeach frz dinners or a salad w/protien. I don't really like lunchmeat anymore...or eggs. I eat hardboiled eggs and sometimes scrambled eggs tha's about it. Look at the posts "what are you eating today" and maybe you'll get some good ideas. This is a good site for low carb recipies http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html good luck, Erin
