2 questions -hair loss/biotin and caffeine
Well just curious what ya'll think regarding this.
#1 I lost about half the volume to my hair. Well I chopped it and it slowed the loss but it still was coming out. I noticed about 2 weeks ago it is not coming out that much anymore. I have been taking biotin for about 2 mo. I do have alot of short little hairs coming up. So is it the biotin or just my body has gotten over the shock of the surgery?
#2 Caffeine. I am not a regular coffee drinker, I cut the habit along time ago. I drink a starbuck, SF, soy iced latte with lots of ice about once a week. My appetite goes away for the whole day. I know it sounds like a stupid question but has this happened to anyone???
Thanks for any advice....Erin
I lost at least half of the volume of my hair. It started late March and recently has pretty much stopped coming out. I was always told that was just part of having surgery, What really scares me is I am facing another surgery very soon. I don't want to lose more of my hair in another few months!
One other thing I noticed while my hair was falling out in handfuls... I had to shave my legs and underarms more often than I have ever had to... isn't that odd?
My doctor reminded me just this past Monday that the reason he does not want me to have caffiene is that it diminishes your apetite. Maybe you should try a starbuck, SF, soy iced DECAF latte. I have gotten used to decaf and it really is not bad.
Wow, the caffiene comment is really interesting. I've never heard that before, it has always been the opposite. At our support group a long time ago someone said that it stimulates the appetite. I do notice that days when I am extra tired and use real coffee ice cubes in my protein shakes for a morning boost, I am hungrier the whole day. Maybe it is just from being tired anyway and not the caffiene...don't know.
I did notice that I had more shaving to do during active hairloss, too! Very weird.
