Happy Dancing Today!
Ok, so I have been a little giddy today and been on a posting spree all over OH but I'm just so darned happy today.
I'M AT GOAL TODAY......145 POUNDS!!!
Trying to calm down but I''m so grateful to be here, be healthy and to feel so darned good.
So that makes 85 pounds lost since surgery but 110 pounds since meeting Dr. Rawlins and being under his care. Without his help who knows how poorly I'd be doing right now with the way my health was getting a year and a half ago.

Congratulations Molly!!!!! That is so awesome!
I have been meaning to ask you about your revision. I looked on your profile and could not find anything written about it (but maybe I am not looking in the right place). Would you mind explaining a little bit? Did you have bypass before or something different?
That's just because I've been such a blab on the blog that it is way back on page three or something like that. My original surgery was Vertical Banded Gastroplasty in '99. I lost and then put it all back on over the years. It was what was most commonly called 'stomach stapling' where you end up with a 3 oz. pouch and then a band at the bottom of it that empties into the large portion of the stomach and you digest normally. It functioned just like the current lap band procedure but without any chance for adjustments. I never popped any staples or stretched the band but it just didn't work for me because there wasn't the malabsorption factor like there is with the RNY. It was too easy to fall back into bad habits and my original surgeon sent me on my way to fend alone at the 3 month check up. With no organized support, I just drifted away from good practices and into bad health. It just became a vicious circle.
This time around, I chose a surgeon with an excellent support system and am actively participating in it so that I will stay successful.
Now aren't you sorry you asked. ;) Thank you so much for the congratulations, I have to return them to you too...you are doing awesome and your newer photo looks great! Hope that you feel as good as you look!!!
