Anyone else having excess skin issues?
Really this is not a complaint because I would never change a thing but I am definetly going to have skin issues. There will definetly be more surgeries in my future. Right now the major problems are ofcourse the belly, my arms and my legs. Not to mention, but the girls ;o) are disappearing! The legs, belly and the chest are more hideable then the arms though. I have to wear 3/4 sleeve shirts or shirts that have longer sleeves. It is a little frustrating because I can find lots of cute summer shirts that fit great but then there is the arms! Ughhhh.
So, who out there is in the same boat as me? Are you planning of having surgery to get rid of the skin? If, so when? When you reach your goal, after 12 months? What are your thoughts?
Hi, I didnt think I would have too many problems but right now, I have the hanging skin on inner thighs, my arms are hanging and the girls are badddddd. I have always had ugly stomach and it too is hanging but I have a tummy tuck scheduled for September. I will be 9 months post op by then but hope to have lost all of my weight. I fully expect to be at about 140 by then, my goal weight is 130. I had only 103 pounds to lose so thats why I didnt expect it to be so bad. I plan to get tummy tuck and breast reduction but dont plan on any more work. everything else I will get rid of with exercise, as much as possible. This summer, I am wearing bermuda shorts. dont think I will participate in the short short summers ever but I am fine with wearing bermudas and capris. and I do wear my arms out quite a bit. comfort in this heat is more important than worrrying about arms flapping in the wind.
I have lost 74 pounds as of today. RNY on 12/8/06.

I am not having any skin issues. I have been kind of a slow looser though. I am down by 72lbs. I exercise 4-5 days a week ( running and weights). I also put skin firming lotion on 2 times a day. My body is tighter and firm than it was in high school. My belly is by no means flat, however it is far smaller and no saggy skin.
Theresa, my flapping skin isn't too bad and the belly skin is a badge of two successful pregnancies too so I don't mind it so much. It makes me grateful for having had the blessing of my kids. The batwings on the arms aren't too terrible so I a wearing all the short sleeve or sleeveless things I want and if anybody doesn't like the looks of my arms then tough for them. LOL
The girls however...they really cause me true distress. I have even had nightmares relating to that and wish I could afford to have some implants. Years ago after my VBG surgery when it seemed my weight would be stable at some point I had a breast reduction and the surgeon said that they'd stay that size forever, even if I lost more weight. NOT TRUE!!! So now I don't have tube socks hanging down...just sad, sad little empty boobies. JoAnn Fabrics helped tremendously, though. I found a pair of 'breast enhancers' on their notions wall for about $10 and they work just fine. They push up my little empty girls enough to give me a little rounded shape up top and then fill out the rest of my old b-cup bras so that I still look like a girl.
So, maybe someday I'll be brave and find a way to finance some implants but I really don't like the idea of having some foreign bodies inside my chest. Especially with a family history of breast cancer and heart disease. Who knows when I may need to have my chest cut open someday (hopefully not at all now that my health is under control)...I just don't want to mess with it any further.

(sorry this was so long-winded, this is obviously a sore subject with me)
My stomach is bad but it doesnt look like skin just looks like a sagging belly which started after 2 pregnancies...need some muscle tightening. my upper thigs have lots of hanging skin but i think its kinda cool riht now cause i can physcially see how much came off of there and my arms sag. I do weight machines and exercise regulary but yes i plan on plastics, which i wasn't that vein, but i am
