How much are you guys eating at each meal? I always feel like I eat more than everyone else. Are you still getting that "satisfied" sensation, mine seems to have been dulled, I just measure and stop pretty much but 20 mins later I feel full, maybe I eat too fast? How fast do u guys eat? My biggest problem for sure.. i just don't wanna stretch something. thanks! Hugs to all you guys!

I get hungry alot. I usually just eat until I am full which is far less than the measured amount but I get hungry about 2 hours later. I do eat too fast, it is hard to remember sometimes and I pay for it, my pouchie will hurt for about 10 minutes if I go too fast. My Dr. said that it is hard to stretch your pouch and you will feel sick or vomit before it gets to that point. But that is just my Dr., I don't know about others. I eat nuts and beef jerky when I start to get hungry and it will satisfy me until I eat my meals. Huggs back 2 ya Brina

I am eating about 1 cup at a meal now and staying under 1000 calories, it also depends if it is soft food or meat beacuse with soup or chili it's a cup if it is meat about 3 or 4 ounces. I also am hungry more often now I try to do 3 meals and 2-3 healthy snacks every day. I saw my surgeon and Nut yesterday and they told me not to increase my food anymore until I am 1 year out and then I can move up to 1200-1300 calories a day. Stephanie

Hey Melissa, I didn't try your recipie yet but I am definitly going too this weekend. Well I think I eat more that I should too. I can eat about 8oz at a sitting which is 1cup. But I have been able to do that for about 2 1/2 months now, since my stricture was fixed. I had 2 of those and was vomiting all the time. I fear stretching something too!!!! I really try to remember the 30/20/30 rule, no drinking 30 min before a meal, eat for 20 min(I usually finish in 10) and no drinking for 30 min after the meal. I have really been watching my calories using fitday and it helps, I finally broke the 190 mark. I weighed in a 188 this morning. My satisfied sensation has dulled a little and I think about food more often than I used to. But I am trying, want to take off the rest of the wt...... Hugs back at ya!!!! Erin

Hi Erin, Well all I can say is reading your reply has made me feel A LOT better, we are in the same boat totally on most everything. I feel much better about it. I never ever go over 1000 cals though, I usually stick with 800-900. But I also burn off 300-400 5 days a week so I don't feel that is bad, plus you have to figure we malabsorb some of that.. sometimes i feel I fret over nothing. We are doing great my friend.. keep up the great work and thanks for replying.. glad we are in this together. I like having those that can relate to me on this board, makes me feel really good! *hugs*

Melissa, I'm with you..it seems I eat too much but then that may be from hanging out on the bypass board and seeing how much the new postops eat. All my foods are still pre-measured and if I am eating something softer i can eat more...it must just pass through faster. Usually the volume is between 1/2 and 1 cup. Daily calories have been running between 7-800 and sometimes up into the 900 range but I don't worry about it. Meals last between 10 to 20 minutes unless I'm eating out with family or friends and then I eat a salad and just pick at the greens for a long time to be social and then get to the protein and can stop quickly after that because it fills me. I hate getting to the point where I feel full because it is uncomfortable. It seems to be more mentally satisfying to eat my measured amount and then get away from the food because I know it was enough to eat and know I won't be hurting later. Does that make any sense? It sure sounds weird. Well, that is why I come here to hang out with ya'll...we seem to be having similar experiences that other people probably can't understand. LOL Molly

Hi Molly!!! Uhm when I first saw your avitar I didn't recognize you and my initial thought was, this girl must have the wrong board she is MUCH to skinny to be hanging out here on the december board!! OMG! LOOK AT YOU!!!! BREATH TAKING!!! When I look at that picture Molly I see nothing but NORMAL.. SKINNY.. BEAUTIFUL! HOW GREAT THAT MUST FEEL! I am soooo proud of you!!!!!!!! *hugs*

Awww, Melissa! Hugs for you too!!! I made sure to wear a red shirt so everybody would know it was me since I had red on in my work photo before. It is so weird that I still don't really see that 'normal, skinny' person in the mirror and I certainly don't think her clothes are going to fit every day when I get dressed. Shockingly, they do! *YOU* look GREAT and I have loved seeing all your photo updates and your new avitar! Your posts are always so encouraging to read as well as really from the heart. You and everybody here are my lifeline in this day-at-a-time struggle. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us here. Big hugs! Molly
