B: 1 egg, 2 oz of lean ham steak or cottage cheese pancakes or kashi go lean crunch cereal with blueberries and van soy milk. L: 3oz of meat and some soft veggies or 1 cup chili D: 3 oz of meat and some soft veggies or 1 cup chili S: homeade sugar free latte, nuts, jerky and light moz stick, NAS fudgesickles.. I stick with 800 cals usually unless I am working as a nurse (2 nights a week) I tend to get a little higher b/c I don't sleep much.. towards 1000.

Melissa Hello, you are so helpful on this page, I just wanted to make a comment. I did not realize that Kashi go lean had so much protien in it. I love soy products, I don't tolerate milk products very good. I have tried cereal 3x since my surgery (cheerios, bran flakes, and shredded wheat) I dumped each time, ....oatmeal made me dump too, but I will try the Kashi because it is good for me. I also copied your cottage cheese recipie for pancakes, I will try them this weekend. So a big THANK YOU for the suggestions....Erin

Hi Erin, Well hopefully ya don't dump on it. I don't do well with milk either, I thought I was doing better with these lactaid tablets I was taking but nope, still having problems so I am doing 8th continent vanilla soy milk. Has 60 cals per serving... love it. I use that with a cup of the kashi go lean (there are serveral kinds on the market) the go lean has the least amount of sugars and is much better for you.. read all the labels and get the ones that has the twigs and stuff in it, not the flakes! It also has a lot of fiber! 9 grams of insoluable fiber.. whao momma, hold your nose! I have revamped my pancakes and made them better now.. here is what I do: 1 egg, 1/4 cup of cottage cheese (using a 1/2 cup like everyone else makes them runny I think and kinda soggy consistency!) and then 2 tbsp of flour (I am using whole wheat/grain flour now) and some cinnamon, 1 packet of splenda/equal/sweet and low and dash of vanilla. I also after mixing all the up in my bullet add 1/3 cup of blueberries by folding them in (i thaw them from frozen). I cook those up and then add some SF syrup, squirt of light whip and some more blueberries on top.. heaven!

Thanks for the update, I did not get to try them, but I did eat the ham and eggs yesterday. What I noticed with how your are eating is very little carbs. I am really watching the carbs now. I was eating fruit and dried fruit and realized I need to lay off a little on that. I will try the pancakes for sure this weekend, thanks again. Erin

so would you say that instead of the cottage cheese pancakes --that would be about 1 cup of cottage cheese? or what would you consider an adequate amount of protein to eat for breakfast?

The cottage cheese pancakes are 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1 egg, 2 tbs flour.. cottage cheese is packed with protein and eggs are good sources too. I also do 1 egg and 1 small ham steak (2 oz) and i get 12 there. Or I can do oatmeal and put a scoop of unflavored protein powder it in.. usually eat half serving so its like 12-15 grams with milk added. Kashi go lean crunch has 14 grams of protein per cup serving.. add milk it boosts it even more. Good luck!

Liz, my stats are on my ticker. My nut. has me on a six-meal a day plan and I am supposed to stay 7-800 calories until I get to maintenance then 1000. So far I usually follow something like this: 1st....protein shake 2nd...1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean cereal (no liquids...I just munch it dry) 3rd...2 oz meat (usually chicken, tuna or turkey) and a moistener sauce 1 tab. 1/4 cup veggie 4th...a protein snack of either 1 oz. soy crisps or 1 oz. low-fat mozz. 5th...same type and amounts as 3rd. 6th...lately 1 cup strawberries or watermelon eaten over several hours (planned grazing) I get left side pain still off and on too but I just rest a bit and then keep going, hope that you are able to find a way to work around it because your exercise is so important for keeping up your weight loss. You have to have muscle to burn fat...dieting alone won't do it. Keep up the good work! Molly
