What is your routine??
You are welcome, I love fitday. Once you put some of your faves in your custom list and use the "recently" used drop down and get the hang of it, it goes really fast.. i literally plan my whole day out before hand with 100 calorie to go to give room for healthy snacks, its a great tool, glad you like it.
Hey Melissa,
I tried that pancake recipe, WOW was is good. The kids LOVED them. They were so excited that they could have pancakes again...LOL. We used sugar free syrup instead of the whip cream though. I think the only thing I'd change is that I'd use whole wheat flour next time...I didn't have any in the house or I'd have done it this time. Or perhaps even buckwheat. My kids actually like that.
I was wondering if, by chance, you had the nutrition information for those, or where I could find it?? Not that it's a huge deal, but I'm curious.
Hope your day is going well. Thanks AGAIN!
Wow - this is the first time I've checked out Obesity Help and I am so glad I did. I felt like I was starting to be a failure since I'm almost at my 6 month anniversary (June 29th) and have only lost 63 lbs - seems everyone I know has almost lost 100 by that date.
Thank you for being so honest.
Yesterday I made a pact with myself to not have coffee and sugar - I'm hoping this will get me back on tract so I can lose the remaining 35 I need to lose.
I went to my Support Group last night and that helped as well. Do you have a support group near you?
I also upped my walks to two a day (most days) and I'm going to start going back to the gym to lift weights.
I'll let you know if this jump starts me again......
Have a blessed day!
Congrats on your loss so far and only having 35lbs more to lose!! I still have 60 to go, so I'm half way there. My surgeon says he'd like to see it done in 12 months, which by his timeline, I'm right on schedule. I guess by the time we decide to have surgery, we're just so fed up, we want it gone now!
I'd say for sure cut out the sugar. I still have my iced coffee, but I sweeten with Splenda, or sugar free flavorings. If/when I put "creamer" in, I use Fat Free milk.
As far as support groups, I don't know of any in the area. My surgeon is roughly an hour from me, and I only recently found out when they meet.
Now that school is out for the kids, I'll be able to increase my activity and get more walking in. Maybe even finally get to the gym now that I'll have a sitter for the little one.
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond...it helps to know I'm not alone in this.
I did not lose *any* weight for several weeks. Around that period of time, my hair started coming out by the handful; my derm doc told me it was a physical reaction to the surgical trauma and that it would eventually stop. I figured that my body was just adjusting to a new me. I also stopped weighing myself so frequently because it became depressing. I just continued the same way: lots and lots of water, protein (tofu, TVP and fish,) very little fruit/juice, very mushy veggies (very little of that, too), cheese...and sugar free chocolate from Trader Joe's! Also, I exercise regularly (walking, jazzercise, some weights.)
Thanks Diana. I'm at the not losing ANY weight stage right now. No loss for a month now. Last month I also started losing my hair by the handfuls. I started taking Biotin supplements. I wish I could stop weighing myself, but I've become a serial weigher. I'd not thought of tofu...I should pick some up, for variety.
Thanks again, and I hope your weight loss picks up soon.
