Hello, After trying many protiens and having no success, I stopped taking it about 2 monthes ago. I am getting mixed messages that either I will die soon or others say that their doctor told them they didn't need it. I have a huge mental problem with it now from being so sick after drinking it. If I even smell it, I get sick! Can anyone help me with this?

I am the same as you. I throw up every protein supplement. So.. I just try and get it through food. I don't know how much i get every day but I try and eat protein first and then other foods. When I see my doctor in July I am going to ask him about it. I have not seen him since the day after surgery.

I was having the same problem until recently. I have started miixing my whey protein powder with unsweetened almond milk and I drink it through a cup with a lid, can't smell it that way. The almond milk acts as a buffer and I do not have the queasy feeling anymore after drinking it. The almond milk is much lower in calories/sugar/carbs than skim milk. The brand I use is Almond Breeze. Give it a try, this is the first time in 6 months I have been able to finish 3 protein drinks a day. Hope this helps.

Have you thought about using other forms of protein rather than just protein drinks? There are millions of protein bars out there. If you can't tolerate the true protein bars either try another kind of high protein food. For example, Special K makes a "Protein Plus" cereal that has 10 grams of protein per serving, plus the protein in the milk. Slim Fast makes a high protein meal bar that has 15 grams of protein in either a chocolate chip 'granola' or a peanut butter 'granola' flavors. My doctor tells us at this stage we should be looking at food as our primary source of protein anyway, not shakes. But some people with trouble eating food still need the liquid aspect of a shake to get their protein in. If you deal ok with solid food then you should work on eating as much protein as you can through your meals each day.
