I have broken the 200# barrier!!!!
This week I have finally broken 200 lbs - and I am so happy. I know I'm not supposed to be stuck on the numbers, but to get below 200 is something I have dreamed about for almost 20 years.
This week I also was able to put on a pair of size 16 misses (not plus size) jeans! With room to spare! Pretty cool since I was wearing a tight 24 on my surgery date...
If there is anyone out there who is reading this, and hasn't had this surgery but is really thinking about it - please take the chance, it could be the best thing you ever did for yourself.
Congratulations to you!!! That 200 pound barrier is really a force to be reckoned with so I understand your joy!!
Clothing sizes are funny for me though. When I was right under 200 pounds 4 years ago, I was wearing size 16 in pants. Now, I am in the 160's and wearing 12s. My 14s are absolutely too big!! Although I hated to do it, people suggested I start wearing dresses and I could wear them much longer. I agree that is true. But I love to wear pants and would never wear dresses.
I have now banned myself from buying anything else, I have 12s that I am able to wear very comfortably (down from size 22 at 233 pounds) and I have a few 10s tucked away in my closet. I will prob be in them about a month or so from now so I am really not going to waste any more money on clothes, no matter how bad it gets. And I refuse to wear clothes that are too big, or even slightly baggy, they distort my body image so terribly bad that I refuse to subject myself to that.
Anyway, congratulations to you!!! its all downhill (or uphill) from here!!

I love this site! It is so cool to come in here and see all of you beeyutiful, wonderful people celebrating with me! Thanks Guys!!!! Ya'll are AWESOME!!!
I just got back from visiting with a family member who is trying to get this surgery. She has so many health issues and wls just seems like the right thing - I remember where she is and I was glad to share my experience with her.
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but since the surgery I have come in contact with more people who need to find out about this surgery and really need to talk with someone who has gone through it. I feel sort of like a missionary - which is so rewarding.
I know I did this for myself, but to help other folks out is just icing on the cake!
Have a great week ya'll!
