WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???????
Hi everyone: I had surgery on Dec. 5th. and so far have lost 65 pounds. I know we are not suppose to compare weight loss, but some of you are doing so much better than myself. I started out at 312 pounds and now weigh between 246 and 249. I have been playing with the same 4 pounds for over a month now. I have had some problems! One being that I was hurt on the job when I went back to work on Feb. 16th. I was tripped by a special ed student and fractured my left shoulder and injured my left knee. I already had arthritis in the knee. The ortho Dr. that I have been seeing has given me 2 steroid shots in the knee and I'm wondering if that is the reason that my weight loss has been stalled for over a month now. Because of the knee and swelling I have not been able to walk or exercise. I can't eat more then a half cup of food at a time, so I know it is not that i'm eating to much and I'm still getting in the protein, water and vitamins, so what am I doing wrong? I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. I am getting very frustrated!!!!

I do not think you are doing anything wrong. Everyone losses at a different pace and we all stall. I was Dec 13th and I am down around 94 BUT 20 of it was Pre Diet so 74 since surgery and my starting weight was 358 (338 day of surgery). I use to worry about the number and I am really trying not to anymore. I feel SO MUCH BETTER!!! I look better and my attitude is A LOT better, I am a much happier person. I am also at a stall and am not going to loss my goal of 10 pds this month and that is OK. I WISH I had measured myself before surgery as I am amazed at what I am wearing now, so I know I am losing inches.
Keep up the good work and keep smiling..65 pds is GREAT!!!!
Thank you Diana: Your right we should not worry about the numbers, but I'm just concerned, because I know 3 people who had this surgery who only lost 80 and 60 pounds and I don't want this to happen to me. I have a lot more weight to lose. But I'm sticking to my diet and doing everything that I supposed to do. I wish I measured myself also before I started loosing the weight, because like you my clothes are really big and some tops that I have not wore for a week or two are even bigger now. This weekend my grandson is being christened and I have to go out and buy a new dress, because all the ones I have are before surgery. I don't even know what size to buy, so this should be fun. I was wearing a size 26-28 so I hope to get into a least a size 24 or even 20. Thanks again and I'm so glad that I found this web site and can talk to people who had surgery around the same time I did.

Hi Rosemary, Don't worry about your loss hun. You are doing awesome!! I went for a little over 4 weeks with no loss at all. I freaked out!!!!!! I started to lose again last week and found that while I was not losing I went into my old mindset and started to eat less. It was totally subconscious but nevertheless I was not eating alot. When I got chewed out for it my my Dr. I picked it up and started focusing on eating my chicken and beef (protein). I started to lose within 2 days. I guess protein really does make a difference. But like I said, you are going at a great pace and should never feel down on yourself. Everyone on this board is rockin it!!!!
