Well I had my surgery December 5th here in Rapid City with the wonderful Dr. Sufficool. I am so happy that I had the surgery, however I am not to the point where I would recommend it to people as I remember the emotional and physical pain way too much. Tuesday I will be 19 weeks post op and as of now I am down 75 lbs which is wonderful. I work in surgery with Dr. Sufficool and since the surgery have had a chance to talk with other bariatric patients and I have a whole new sense of respect for them. Prior to my surgery I didn't really get it all, but after having it I now understand. The surgery has not only helped me personally, but it has helped me to better myself at work!
Since I wasn't a "foodie" I've not had the emotional issues, sense of loss, abandonment, etc., that some of the others have had. I had mine strictly due to prevent the heart disease and diabetes that plagues all of my mom's side of the family, and to help with my PCOS, in the chances of becoming pregnant, finally.
I've only had minimal surgery pain, so that wasn't an issue, either. And I love my surgery! I'm not shy about telling others I've had it, or answering questions. My cousin (male) is now working on getting his done, and I'm so happy for him that he's choosing to do something about his diabetes, and our bad family health history.
Sorry to hear that you had it rough, and still aren't ready to recommend the surgery to someone else. Maybe down the road, you will be.
But 75 lbs is awesome! Congrats!
