This is what I look forward to every day if you can believe it. I love my protein shake so I thought this might helps some of you. Iced Mocha/Khalua Frappacinno Ingredients: 8 oz of milk (I use light soy milk) 1 decaf Folgers coffee tea bag (yes they make these and for some reason it tastes the best) 3/4 scoop of choc protein powder 1 small dab of sugar free khalua davinci syrup optional squirt of light whipping cream (Rhedi whip makes one that is fat free, 5 cals, and 1 sugar per serving). ***I get all the ingredients at walmart How I do it: I use the magic bullet, you can also use a blender. I pour my milk, protein powder and small dab of syrup together. I then put that aside. I then take 3 oz of water and boil it in the microwave and then add my folgers decaf tea bag to this. I use a spoon to really smoo**** and get all the coffee flavor out of it for a minute. Then I add some ice cubes to cool this mixture off. Makes about 6 oz of fluid. Then I add this to my mixture and then blend it real well. I pour this over ice, add a squirt of whip and wala!!! It is soooooooooooooo yummy!!!

If I could get past the whole, "I hate coffee" thing, it does sound good, Melissa. Luckily, I don't have a problem with the protein shakes, as my surgeon has told us to get the hell off them and on solid food. LOL

That sounds good, but I can not use any form of artifical sweetner. I have always had a problem with them giving me migraines and since surgery it is even worse. Heather, I would love to hear more about how you get your protien from solid foods, please.

Well, at my 3 month recheck, the PA said it was time to kick the shakes and powders, unless absolutely needed. So, my protein intake was upped to 11-12oz of protein, divided among my meals & snacks for the day (so 77g of protein minimum). My day currently looks like: B: 3-4 oz of protein, 2 oz of fruit (21-24g protein) S: 1 oz protein (if I'm hungry by then) (6-8g) L: 4 oz of protein, 2 oz of fruit or veggie (24g protein) S: Usually yogurt or my 8 oz of milk (6-8g protein) D: 4 oz protein (24g protein) So, even without the morning snack, I'm at 77g of protein for the day. Add in the morning snack it's 84-85g. I can muddle fudge the calculations as well, if I don't want my snacks. If I'm feeling crappy (like when I was sick for a week), I can add 1/2 to 1 scoop of vanilla Body Fortress Whey protein from Walmart to my yogurt (or chocolate to my milk for chocolate milk) and that's between 11-23g of protein added to my day (if I don't feel up to eating the 3-4oz of protein at each of my meals). I haven't really touched the powder since I was a little under 3 1/2 months. All my protein comes from food now.

Thank you so much for the info. I also looked at your profile and saw what you had listed for some meals. I am mainly getting my protien from food also, I am so happy to find someone else doing so too.
