Hello all ny fellow Dec. people, I have a concern I was on the general message board and people there about three months out are losing lots of weight. I am wondering what I am doing wrong. My surgery was Dec 18, I have lost about 48 pounds, it goes up a pound then down two depending on time of day. Anyway can you all share your losses with me and time frame. Day of surgery I was 310 ,I am now about 267, Am I doing alright when I read that some have lost like 70 some pounds in three months. thanks Kelly
The first thing I did was I got rid of my scale. I have no idea how much I weigh unless I go to my doctors. I found that the scale played terrible mind games. I would be on it 10 times a day. Your weight fluctuates throughout a day and week. I have no idea if I am ever in a stall because I only weigh about once a month (unless I have to go to the doc for another reason). I just follow my food plans, drink lots of water, and excersise everyday and it seems to help me with the weight. I found that once I started excersising that the weight started to fall off. I have also increased my carbs because I need something to burn at the gym other than muscle. I was only eating natural carbs before a few weeks ago.
Just think 48 pounds in three months... THAT IS AMAZING!!! It is a down number not an up number!! I wouldn't worry too much about the number just worry about what you are doing. Drink your water, excersise and you will see the results!

Well... I guess it is a meal plan. It was only a week plan but what I do follow on it is some of the suggested food. I have never eaten what they suggest in a day but there is lots of things like fish, chicken, eggs, veggies, etc. I find it scarry how much food they suggest you eat.
I am probably not the best person to ask about what I eat because I really struggle with food. I hate food. I have to force myself to eat at every meal (except breakfast). If I am busy and out of my normal schedule I forget to eat. It is really bad but I am working at trying different foods and trying to eat it.
Good luck. I think the key for me has been the excersising.
Good Luck
Hi there Kelly,
I am right there with you. I was down 50 pounds on my 3 month anny and I just celebrated my 4 month anny on april 4th and down 65 pounds.
I had a highest weight of 328
surgery day 280
1 month out 258
2 month out 244
3 month out 230
4 month out 215
So I am averaging about 15 a month right now I am sure it will slow down some though.
I think you are doing just fine!!
Hi Kelly,
My surgery was three days after yours and I know just how you feel. I have lost 57 pounds as of today, and I know that is god but I see people on line who had surgery in March and are already 60 pounds down. I asked my doctor and he said our BMI really matters and that I had less to lose than others. Since then I have been looking at people's BMI and I feel much better.
We are so lucky to have lost our weight easily. Just keep your chin up. I love it when people notice how good I am beginning to look - I am sure you are hearing the same compliments. Listen, thank them and smile.
Good luck,
nancy
Hey Kelly,
I also heard that the more you weigh the faster you lose. WOW 48 lbs!!!!! Just think 3 months ago you wouldn't have been able to lose that much in a year. This is a wonderful tool we have been given. We just have to remember to use it wisely. Are you getting your protein in? I do between 70-100 grams a day. Some days I don't get it all in, but I try and most days I do. Keep your chin up. You are doing great. I know it's hard not to let the numbers control your thoughts, but try. Are you excersising? If you are doing weights, you may be building muscle and that weighs more than fat. What does your surgeon say about your weight lose? If he/she is pleased, then go with that. Have you measured to see how many inches you have lost? I hope you get out of your slump. Take care.

Hello and I know I need to be happy.Yes I think my inches are showing more then weight because I was size 26 and now I can wear size 20 so that is good. Thanks so much for all you encouragement. Yes Dr seems happy so I guess I am doing well I need to do better with protien and water. Anyway it is amazing the change taking place, keep in touch Kelly
WOW!!!! 26 to 20. That's awesome. I hit a stall and it lasted about a week and a half. Since I statred moving again I have only lost 1 lb. But I know if I excersise more I could get the scales to move a bit more. I wish you all the best. This is not an easy thing we are doing. Just try to remain positive. If you need a pick me up, You can always e mail me. I don't always have the best words but I will try. Take care. I will check in with you later to see how you are doing.
