3-month check up

I went for my 3-month visit with my surgeon, psychiatrist, and nutritionist on Thursday. I am officially down 61 lbs. since surgery! All my labwork came back great, too. I have had high cholestrol for 15 years (over 300 with medications) and now my total cholestrol was 153 (with NO meds)! My only real problem is not finding any protein drinks that I like. It seems like every one I've tried tastes too sweet for me. I'll keep buying samples and trying different things until I come across one that will hopefuly work for me.

Congrats!!!!! My 3 month is today but I don't have an appt till the end of the month. Keep working on that protein. 61 lbs.....that's awesome. Keep up the good work Corinn

I had my three month yesterday. All my levels are great, which is very good news since I have such a hjard time getting all my supplements in. The Doctors scale even has me losing more than my scale. I think I have only lost 48 pounds but his scale says I have lost 52... either way i am thrilled to finally be below 200 pounds!!!! Only 24 pouns to go until i am just "overweight" and no longer "obese". My only gripe is having to drive two hours each way, just to see the Dr for 5 minutes. He walked in the room, asked me how I felt, looked at my weight, looked at my labs, said I am doing great and then said "okay... see you in another 3 months"!

Hi everyone. Congrats on your checkup! That is so great. I am proud for you. I went for my check up in February. The 15th which was 2 months and 2 days out. My next appt. is not until May. And I have had no blood work yet. Does this sound right? I have lost 52 pounds, and I finally went clothes shopping. I also cleaned out my closets and dresster drawers of clothes that longer fit. Just keep trying the protein. You'll find one you like. The only one I like is GNC brand. 100% Whey.

I've been such a slacker on the protein... like, no protein-drinks, no protein-supplements, nothing. I think the last drink that I tried was just so nasty (combined with my excitement about being able to eat "real" food again) that I just gave-up on it for a while. BAD! Thank you for reminding me that I need to stick to it. I would say that you definitely need to get your blood work done, Barbara. I had mine done right before my two-month check-up, and it helped my surgeon know what to adjust for me and why or why not I was losing the kind of weight that I was. Congrats on the 52 pounds, however!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 3-month anniversary is on Monday, the 26th. I don't go to see my surgeon for another two or three weeks, however. I've lost about 56 pounds, depending on the scale... time of day... yada yada yada. I just can't get over the fact that (1) I'm on track to meeting my goals (I should be at 190 - 200 in November!), (2) I have tons of energy (when I don't skimp on sleep), and (3) I'm wearing clothes in sizes that I haven't seen in YEARS. Congrats to all!

Congrats Patti, I had a hard time finding a protein drink that i like as well I like Unjury and now they have a chicken broth its 20g of protein and taste pretty good if you go to their website you can order samples. If you do try it the directions say not to use boiling water but i found that if you dilute it in part warm water then pour in some boiling water it will be nice and warm and wont change the texture. ( if you use all boiling water it will clump)
