Hey, it's been 8 1/2 weeks! However, I still do not have much energy. I have been really depressed so I went back on Effexor, wow did that make me sick! Anyway, When do I get some energy back? Anyone else have this same problem?

Hi, Traci! The only time I start feeling weak is when I don't get enough activity/exercise in, as weird as that sounds. What has your activity level been? I'm sorry to hear about your depression, too... I hope this next week brings you some much needed relief! - Krystal

I am 8 weeks out also. The only time I feel weak is when I don't take my vitamins and don't get enough protien. I stopped taking Prozac about 2 months before surgery. I have been exercising regularly and haven't need the Prozac yet. They say exercise helps with depression. I never really believed them, but so far so good.

Traci, when do you go back to get your bloodwork done? My surgeon does it again at 3 months but I know they are all different. Maybe you aren't getting enough protein or B-12. Or fluids, even. I had that problem until about week 6 and that is around the time I had my second dilation and then was able to start getting in more proteins. That seems to be about when my lactose intolerance let up and I was able to get back to the whey shakes, they seemed to do me more good than the spirulina ones. We are all unique in how our bodies heal after these big surgeries so be patient with yourself but stay on top of your basic needs and if it doesn't get better then call your surgeon for an earlier follow-up if you don't have one scheduled already. Good luck and feel better soon! Molly

I had that issue about a month ago. My doc told me that I wasn't getting enough protein and I needed to add a little sugar to my diet. He suggested that I drink powerade for the electrolytes and the sugar. After about a week or so, I began to feel better. It sounds like an issue you should mention to your doctor.
