My WLS was on 12/20/06 and as of today I have lost 55 lbs. Congrats on your weight loss. I too still see the same old me in the mirror but co-workers tell me they see the difference. Good luck to you! Monica

My surgery was 12/20/06 and as of yesterday I am down 60 pounds! I am so excited! I started out at 368 and had lost down to 353 prior to surgery. I had quite a few complications after surgery and ended up on Coumadin due to pulmonary embolisms. I can not take my arthritis meds now due to a drug interaction with Coumadin and Celebrex. I am now struggling with a syatic nerve in my lower left back that is shooting pain down my left leg. Forget about any walking or exercise. I have been to the chiorpractor every day this week and the PCP just put me on Prednosone to try and settle down the nerve. It seems to be helping and today is the first day the pain has lessened. I am so grateful for this surgery. Everyone keep up the good work. Karen

Hi Kelly: I think every single person that has posted is doing well. Each of us loses differently, and I have had 2 distinct periods of up to 2 weeks where I did not lose anything in lbs, but I lsot inches. As for me, I am a vegetarian: I eat dairy, eggs, and fish, no meat. I stick to my golden rule of this process: water (no less than 64 oz per day intake), vitamins (every day), protein (all based from high protein foods, I don't do shakes), and exercise (something every day for 30 mins---power walking indoors or eliptical). I wish you only the best, and remember, there are some folks who are "slow losers" post op, and they follow the guidelines too....don't let it get you down, we are all aimed at the same goal of a healthier lifestyle, and the weight loss WILL come! Regards, Megan
