South of the Border
You know it's time to purchase new work uniforms and underwear when they start to make a run for the border.. without permission. I finally broke down and bought new bottoms for my work uniforms on Weds of this week. I was a 3x, but when I went to get the new ones, everyone kept saying, I bet you'd fit in the XL. I told them they were nuts. But I still bought the XL figuring in a couple of weeks....
In a couple of weeks, they might be too BIG! YEAH! But they fit just fine for now
Heather,
LOL! I bet you look great in the newer size! Congratulations!!! Isn't it weird to need smaller clothes? I can't believe it myself. Must take the eyes a long time to adjust to different clothing sizes, what fits me now just doesn't look like it should. So cool! Can't believe you held out this long to get smaller pants, from 3x to xl is a big change.
One thing I have not been hesitant to buy is new underwear, I can't stand things heading south so as soon as they start to bag it is off to Wal-Mart to pick up a new size.
My Dickie uniform bottoms have good elastic in them, only reason I got to wear them as long as I did. Didn't mean when I stepped on the hem, they didn't try to migrate. All the girls at work were chuckling at me.. I felt like the plumber.. always trying to pull my pants up! Not to mention a good strong wind, and I'd probably have been able to get lift off. Talk about extra material in the leg.. surprised MC Hammer didn't show up and want his pants back!
I lucked out on the underwear. I'm a pack rat, and I went through a dresser drawer in the spare room I haven't opened in about 5 years. I found brand new undies I'd bought that are a size 7 - 10's. So, I'm good for a few more pounds there.
Well it's , here.
great feeling isn't it. i remember about 3 weeks post WLS, shortly after i went back to work, i woke up late, threw some clothes on and ran out of the house with my hair still wet.
i had to be in court that morning (i'm an attorney) and as i was standing up making an impassioned speech to the judge, i was horrified to realize that my size 18 skirt was riding down and was about to fall off!!!! i finished talking while keeping my hand on top of my jacket trying to discreetly hold up my skirt and ran to the restroon afterwards, where, thankfully, a kind soul lent me a bobby pin to hold up my skirt for the rest of the day.
since then, i learned that post wls, i always need to make sure i take a minute to make sure whichever size i'm wearing (currently size 12, a month and one day post -op) still fits before i leave the house
but, hey, it is a small price to pay for being healthy.
