Feel like my weight loss is so slow.

2 months out (and 9 weeks) and I have lost about 45 pounds from my highest weight. It seems like it is so slow!! I guess I weigh on the scale too frequently perhaps? I know I am not getting more calories that I am burning because when I track my eating on FitDay.com I only consume 600-900 calories a day and at my weight, even sedentary I burn over 2000 calories a day. I don't understand it!! It's very frustrating sometimes to stay for weeks at the same weight or only move a pound.

Delana - I know what you mean. I just spent the last two weeks or so at the 310 - 312 range, and didn't understand what was going on. Here's what I've come to believe: 1 - We're probably too obsessed with the scale! Try to limit your weigh-ins to once a day or, if you've got the will power, to once every other day (in the morning, when you're at your lightest). 2 - Our bodies are still adjusting to a major alteration. 3 - Our bodies also go through cycles (menstrually, hormonally, digestively, etc.) that will effect how much weight we lose or retain. I'm seeing my surgeon on Thursday, so I'll be sure to ask him if we're on-par for this far out of surgery. I'm 6 weeks out, and have no idea if the 37 - 44 pounds I've lost (depending on the scale I'm on!) is good, or if I'm doing something wrong. Keep that head up! You're doing a great job - can't wait to hear all about the wonderful new things you can do!!!!! - Krystal 388 (342)/305/190.

Death to the scale. I had to get mine out of the bathroom and hide it because I was obsessing. I now weigh every Saturday morning and am so much more satisfied. I have lost 50 pounds from my highest weight, 25 since surgery 12/26/06 and it comes off in spurts sooooo if I only weigh once a week I usually see results. Try it, you'll have trouble at first but it does help you keep your sanity when you KNOW you're not cheating or doing anything wrong. Drink your water, eat your protein, watch the fats and you WILL lose. I promise. Hugs and love, Lana

You guys should feel good!! I'm 10 weeks out tomorrow and down 32.5 pounds (according to the darn scale today). My official weigh day isn't until Thursday, so I'll probably get those extra 2 pounds back! This is the first time I've been under 200. But I've noticed the scale jumps around 2-3 pounds every day. When you get discouraged, think of this slow loser! lol

I had my surgery right before you (Dec. 1st) and I know exactly how you feel. I feel like mine is coming off sooo slowly. I just hit 50lbs from my highest weight, and 44 since surgery. I need to stay away from the scale. I'm getting a little obsessed with it. LOL. But everyone does lose at different rates... it's become my mantra.... I'm just doing my best to get all my protein/water/exercise in. I wish you all the best. Good Luck and God Bless. Sara

Today is 10 weeks.. down 41 pounds.. oh, joy, oh fun.. LOL Seems like it should be more, but then I think about it.. 40lbs divided by 10 weeks.. that's 4lbs a week. I wasn't even losing that consistently on Weigh****chers. So, I just kicked my scale in to a dark corner, and refuse to listen to it's Siren Call of BS. Because if I do.. I hear.. "come weigh yourself, you know you weigh less than you did this morning, or last night.. come to me..." *stuffs her ears with cotton* Once a week! And that's final... now to get my husband to really go hide the stupid scale.

Same here Heather, My Dh keeps threatening to hide the scale yet does not do it. I am like we heard at the support group. I go pee and think "ok, now I need to weigh again, maybe it went down" then I get upset that it has not moved. In actuality we have all been doing awesome and are just too hard on ourselves. Pass the cotton. Brina

Heather and Brina, you have me laughing! Why do we let our scales make us so nutz? Anymore I get so thrilled with a bm and the magic promise of dropping a little more weight...that is just sick. About all that is good about my scale obsession is that it is what fuels my exercise. I keep thinking that it is horrible and I want to quit but if I do the scale won't move so the torture continues. Funny exercise thing: I actually bruised my behind doing Pilates! Had given away my yoga mat and thought that there was plenty of padding on my backside and didn't need it. Wrong! Had to show dh the bruises to brag. Molly...down a whopping 40 since surgery, 65 total since this time last year

I know exactly what you mean. I had sur. Dec. 8th and have lost 46 pounds all together, but only about 8 of it in the last 4 weeks. I guess after watching it fall off in the beginning, you've got to find your patience in the end. Good Luck everyone.

I'm with you all, I had surgery on Dec 18th and last time I weighed myself I had lost 38 lbs, plus my 12 pre-surgery make a total of 50. Seems low but then again 38lbs divided by 8 weeks makes 4.75 a week! woo hoo!!! Better count my blessings! CONGRATULATIONS to all of us! We are doing just great!
