4-week pictures
It's been 5 weeks since surgery and I've lost a total of 33 lbs. The past week I didn't lose anything! I've been stuck at 33 lbs. for several days and just praying that the scales will move soon.
The pics I posted were taken on my 4-week anniversary. I'm gonna try to post new ones once a month.
Hope everyone is doing good. I've found that I can do good with most foods, except meats. I think my problem is not chewing enough, but it seems like everytime I try meat like roast beef or grilled chicken, I end up getting those nasty foamies. Today I threw up for the very first time and it was after eating 3 bites of shredded roast beef in a little bit of gravy. I don't have a problem with ground beef in soups or chili. Other than this - I feel really great!

((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to u Patti, I am happy for you! I have lost about 37 lbs and been somewhat on a stall as well. I had surgery on 12/12/06. I can not stomache hardly any solid foods, and can only eat soups with out gagging. I am always thirsty and am craving a 7-up so bad. I know i have not had all my protien and i have not been consistant with my vitamins... I need some moral support here
Hoping that stall lets lose and u will be back to losing! Wishing you all the best!

Hey, Marie.
I STAY thirsty all the time, too! That's probably why I have trouble with some of the more "solid" foods - I don't want to NOT drink for 30 minutes before and after eating. I know that sometimes it's only been 15 minutes or so since I took my last swallow of water and then I go ahead and try to eat and end up being too full too soon. Then, after I get over the dry heaves or foamies - I have to go right back and get my bottle of water!
What has helped me with my vitamins is that I bought one of those 7-day plastic pill holders. (I got mine at Dollar Tree for $1 - some of the drug stores wanted $8-$9 for the same thing!) I put my vitamins/meds in that container and leave it sitting out on my bathroom counter top. It's easy to just open the little lid and take my dailys while I'm in there brushing my teeth each morning. (The container has a morning/evening section, so I also take my nite time pills when I'm brushing my teeth before bedtime.) I guess it's like anything else - you just have to find what works for you and it will soon become a habit.
Take care and have a great day!
Patti
