How much weight have you lost? How far out are you?
Hey everyone! Glad someone asked the question, I thought I was losing slow too but we are all in the same ballpark. Finally, I feel normal! I had surgery Dec. 18th and have lost 33 lbs. Had a stall for about a week - man that was frustrating. I couldnt get over the "this is not going to work for me" feeling. I am glad the scale is finally moving. Still struggling with 64 oz. of water - anyone else?
I did go down a size in my pants, I didnt think they would fit but got a pleasant surprise this morning when I tried them on (for the 80th time !!!!) !!
Happy we are in this together, Rebecca

Wow, sure am GLAD you asked this one....I had lap RNY on 12-19-06, and I am down 33 lbs, 2 pants sizes. My shirts fit better, but I have lost a lot in my face, hips, and belly.
I thought I was the only one at a stall...guess not! THANKS TO ALL THE POSTERS, LETS KEEP THIS GOING! Let's me know I am a "normal" post op too.
I have noticed that my body is asking for more water these days, which is a good thing, b/c I fel****erlogged ALL of December....I am up to 45-50 oz per day right now.
Thanks again,
Megan
Delana, thank you for posting your questions. It felt like I was the only one losing slowly and frustrated over clothes. It is nice to see while we are all a bit different, many of us are mirroring each other. I'm down *almost* 30# since my lap RNY on 12/4. (Just a half pound away that doesn't seem to want to budge.) As little as I am eating I know it will come off but the stalls are frustrating!
As for clothes, in the second week post-op I went from my size 22 jeans to the 20's. The jeans are now baggy but I can't even zip the size 18 jeans. In tops I went from 3x's to 18's and some 16's but that hasn't changed. It has been fun boxing up my larger clothes and getting them out of the closet. Every so often at our support group we exchange clothes so it will be fun getting rid of them soon.

I had an open RNY on Dec. 11. I am frustrated because I have been unable to exercise much due to the nature and complications from surgery but I feel better after reading all the posts. I have lost 42 pounds. I am not sure how much has been since surgery because they did not weigh me the morning of surgery so the weight loss has been since they weighed me the week before surgery. I weighed 282 on that particular day and as of this morning I weigh 240. The weird thing is that I don't see it except in my face. As far as clothing goes, I still have a g-tube and my incision is still highly inflamed so I have been hanging out in pajamas...I am not sure if any clothing is loose yet since I can't try jeans. I did meet some other wls pals for lunch this past weekend and I wore a skirt that nearly fell off so I guess that is a good sign...lol!
I'll be the one to make you all feel good and that your weight loss is going great.... I had open RNY on 12/5/06. At my first post-op on 12/14, I was down 15 pounds. I've only lost 7 since then for a total of 22 pounds. I was 6 weeks post op this past Tuesday. My clothes still fit the same (they were a little baggy when I started). The only difference I notice is my bras don't hurt like they used to.
Sooooo.... this thread just confirmed that I'd doing TERRIBLE!!!!!!! I drink my water, take my vitamins, eat what I'm supposed to, and nothing's happening
I KNEW I'd be the one this wouldn't work on!
Carol, hang in there! It is so easy to get discouraged but really you are doing great. Would you have been able to stay on a diet for 6 weeks without surgery? Most of us here would not have been able to do that...so for that alone you know the surgery is working. Maybe this is going to be a long, slow battle for you the whole way down. Maybe you will hit some magic point where your body stops fighting to hang on to the weight and really begins to let it go. I can't say, but I hate to see you get discouraged so early in the process. Give yourself time and please keep hanging in there. Do you have a local support group to keep in touch with? It helps for motivation and encouragement as well as hanging out here
PM me any time you need to vent if you don't want to do it publicly, I'd be happy to listen and offer you any encouragement I can. I've "only" got 71 pounds to lose still so it is probably going to be a slow battle from here on out for me and I plan on coming back here for all the help I can get.
BTW...did they take your measurements at your pre-op appointment? If not, then by all means get them now and keep checking them every month. Even when the scale doesn't move you might still be losing inches and that will be good to see. My nut. checked neck, bust, waist, hips, upper arm and thigh measurements.
Don't give up, it will work for you!
