Has anyone experienced mucus?

I am almost 6 weeks post op and have been very fortunate to have daily bowel movements. One thing I have noticed from the very first week is that I pass a great deal of mucus with the stool. Sometimes the ratio of mucus to stool is 90% mucus, 10% stool. Should I be concerned about this? Has anyone else experienced this? Joan W.

Hi. Your sooo lucky to have regular stools! Believe me. It seems the only way for me to go to the bathroom is with the help of Mylanta. But when the doctor put me on puree's I began getting a real bad gas pain in my chest and sometimes Mucus would bubble back up and for about 10 minutes that would be all that I could do. I didn't feel nausis, but my stomach would hurt when this would happen. The doctor said in about 15 percent of patients this happens and I might have to go back and have a balloon put down my throught to balloon out where the scar tissue is healing around where my new stomach is at.
