My worst day yet! Back to work
I had to go back to work today, I was afraid that I was not ready. Physically I am fine, but I do not have this way of life down yet.
I was nauseous all morning and could not stand the thought of eating anything. So I know I did not eat right today, I did not drink near enough and I forgot my vitamins!
The worst parts was I normally have a can of pepsi on my desk at work and today for the first time since surgery I was craving a pepsi so bad! I know it was just because of the setting I was in.
I have to get better organized tonight so I can do better tomorrow. Right now I feel like a total failure!
I haven't gone back yet and am afraid to until I get in some sorta feeding schedule (like a newborn) Work can be stressfull and sometimes we don't have time to go to the bathroom or even think about drinking all I should. Hopefully you'll do better tomorrow. Wow, this is such a learning experience. Lorrie
You have no grounds to feel like a failure sweetie. You did awesome on your first day back. Remember that alot of people are out for a month ++. It will take a bit to get used to it but we can do it. Just keep a bottle of water where the pepsi used to be, try to take a sip every 10 minutes and it may help. Sorry you feel so down, I am sure I will be posting the day I start back too
Hang in there hun

Hang in there!
I'm having a rough week also, and posted on the main board today about it...but you know what, one response was "hey! you were on the operating table just 3 weeks ago!"....point well taken....we are all still very "fresh" and raw from surgery...best to you.
One foot in front of the other, one day at a time...

I know it's not the same thing as a Pepsi, but try the Crystal Light Iced Tea flavor... it's the best substitute I can think of.
Do you have a stop watch, or a cell-phone with a countdown timer? If so, set it for 10 minutes and, each time it goes off, sip an ounce. That has worked WONDERS for me!
Also, about being more organized - I am so with you! I think you getting everything ready the night before is a wonderful idea. Set-out everything you're going to need, vitamin/medicine-wise for the next day. I put mine in a Ziplock bag so that I can take it with me if I need to leave/go to work.
Like the others are saying, you're not a failure! It's so hard to stay on top of a new schedule, and you're doing it with a body that's trying to get used to itself all over again!
CONGRATS!

I go back Monday, and I am a little nervous too, but everyone in my unit knows what I had done, but there are many people in the big health insurance company I work for that everyone has seemed to except it and I'm so glad. I'm lucky that way. I think my biggest concern is organization. This just adds to the already big list! But, I know we can do it!!! We just have to keep telling ourselves that !!
Good Luck,
Beth
