I am having a real problem. I am supposed to have two protien shakes per day and i can not do it! Everything I have tried is no nasty, I just can not choke it down. It might be simpler if I could drink it down quickly, but that is not allowed. I know I have to have this protien and I am scared, what if I can not find anything that I can get down???

I recently tried isopure liquid, it's 20 oz and 40 grams protein. It's really good, can't taste the protein at all. They have different flavors. You can also add a little crystal light or sf koolaid to make it taste better. Also worldwide protein shake. ready made. Both are at GNC. Also the protidiet hot cocoa is wonderful.

So sorry you are having that problem. Me too! I hate the isopure but if you can drink it you can knock out all the protein easily. I have the Cytosport with whey. Tastes much better the all the stuff I've tried from GNC. Unfortunately you are going to have to just try everything for yourself. We all have different taste buds. Same thing I always think about is..if I could just slam it..I'd be fine. The Prodiet drinks aren't too bad..Well I only like the fruit punch one. Lots of protein in both things. Good luck Hope this helps some.

Have you tried the profect/protica? They come in vials and they are like 23 grams in 2 oz or something like that. I ordered from protica.com and also ordered some from bariatriceating.com. They are good when you are running behind on protein or are on the go. You can mix them with crystal light or dilute it some with water, they tend to be a little thick but they are not bad tasting at all. I keep some in the refrigerator. Also, you could try the "coffee" drinks from bariatriceating.com. They are good, they have cappuchino, vanilla nut and another kind but they taste like the starbucks fraps that you buy at the store and they even look like them. Those do not have any protein taste to them (to me) and they cost about 2.00 each. They have 23 grams of protein each and its about 12 ozs. I get tired of the protein powders and have to be in a mood to use them but I have a variety of protein sources since I do NOT love food right now. Got to get it in any way I can. Hope this helps. I too am having a big time problem with the protein. I just can't handle any of the shakes. I can hardly stand anything sweet because of having to stomach them. Sometimes, I just can't, I feel like vomiting and they make me nauseas. The only one that I can deal with (not that it taste good), is the Isopure. 40 grams of protein in 20 oz is pretty good, and it's light, like a flavored water, instead of a shake. Even if I drink 10 oz a day, it helps alot to get the protein in. They are expensive though, but we won't be on all liquids forever, thank goodness !!!! They have orange, grape, and fruit punch. I'd have to say that I like the fruit punch the best, but any protein drink is yuck to me. Carnation Instant Breakfast is good, but you'd have to drink way too many to make up for the Isopure. But having a couple of those a day, and the Isopure, I'm close to the 75 grams. Good Luck!! Believe me, I'm with ya. I'm going to try those cubes off of Bariatriceating.com too. Hugs to Ya

I had the same problem with protein as well. I had no appetite and the blended shakes were just soooooooo thick and had a smell to me.. But when I went to my surgeon he told me Protein = pounds so the more you drink or eat the more pounds you lose. So I made a few different ones that I could tolerate Nectar protein strawberry kiwi flavor - mixed with cup of OJ- 2 frozen peach slices and blend it all in the blender. Once done separate into 2 servings and freeze until frozen or semi frozen *whichever you prefer. Layer Mixture with SF jello and SF cool whip like a parfait .. Delicious SF Carnation Instant Breakfast with anywhey no flavor added protein and skimplus milk is 33 grams of protein. I mix the profect vials with ice and a little juice in the blender. WLSSUPPLIES.COM ALSO SELLS SAMPLE SIZES OF VARIOUS PROTEINS WALMART ALSO HAS A WHEY PROTEIN POWDER FOR 11-13 BUCKS VS WHAT YOU WOULD PAY AT A HEALTH FOOD STORE. YOU CAN ALSO BUY PROFECT OR NEW WHEY VIALS AT THE VITAMIN SHOPPE IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THOSE IN YOUR AREA.. HOPE THIS HELPS PS I wasn't yelling just to lazy to retype everything once i realized the caps lock was on....

Thanks for all the suggestions. I should have added that I can not tolerate any artificial sweetners. Even splenda triggers migraines for me and especially now I can not take my migraine medicine if I get one. I'll be trying everything until I hit on something that works I guess. Thanks again and keep 'em coming.

I too am anti artificial sweetener---I found a herbal alternative called Stevia, and it's marketed and sold by Sweet Leaf (www.sweetleaf.com)...you can look on their site to see where it is sold, it's mostly sold in places like Whole Foods and health food stores. I have tried it twice and really liked it. And, it's not man made. Good luck to you with the protein, I am still struggling with that as well. I bought soy protein at Whole Foods, it's flavorless, and tastes like plain powder. Works for me! It's 10 grams per two Tablespoons. Have a great day, Megan

I use Pure Advantage Pea Protein (25g) per shake in berry or Chocolate Mint flavour. The great part is they use stevia as a sweetener rather than the artificial ones. You can buy them online either in bulk or single bottle where all you need to do is add water (great for travel).

I had the same problem... I tried all kinds of protein that I got online. I could always "feel" that thick taste, even in the nectar ones. I decided to go back to my old Atkins days. I bought the AdvantEdge EAS shakes. The French Vanilla (my fav) has 17 g. or protein, so I drink 2 a day. They come in a silver box type container. Already made. I get them cheapest at Wal-Mart. Grocery stores have them too. They are a little thick of course, but the taste is decent. I have so much protein now, I might have my own yard sale on protein products this summer!
