Got a few questions...help
I'm going to post this on another board as well but here it goes. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I wanted to know..first, anyone out there still have quite a bit of nausea? Haven't vomited but just lots of nausea. Second, I wake up in the night or even early am and have lots of pressure still..like maybe lots of gas??? Third question is, no matter what I eat or drink.. I get this uncomfortable pressure in my chest. I'm watching what I eat or drink..not to much *I measure everything* not too fast either because i time myself. Any suggestions would really help or any advice. some days are great and other aren't. ???????
Hi Rebekkah,
I had RNY on 12/8 so I am right behind you. I have not had any nausea but feel lightheaded when I rise too fast. Check with your surgeon, you may be able to get some of that phenergan (sp??) for nausea. Thats good you are not throwing up.
I do not have the pressure but I take fiber pills every day with my vitamins and take MOM once a week. I have not experienced any gas and I think this might be why.
Thats good that you are eating nice and slow. I had 1 event where I ate too fast and I have to slow myself down quite often. I think its just a habit, because I am really NEVER hungry, so there is no need to scarf down my food. My problem is that I am not interested in eating anything. Its almost a chore deciding what I will eat and I even think I am not eating enough. I know that my body needs food for fuel, thats my head talking sense but putting that plan into action has been difficult for me.
Hopefully you can get some relief from the nausea. Are you exercising yet? That may help with the pressure that sounds like gas.
I was just able to sleep on my stomach about a week ago and that has made a tremendous difference in my quality of sleep.
Good luck to you.

Hey there! I am 2 weeks post op and have the severe nausea. It is the worst in the morning, and then it fades. I do notice that I feel more pressure or a tight ness in the morning( with out drinkning anything) and then it gradually decreases. You should call your surgeons staff and see if they can reccomend anything for you. I try hot peppermint tea with a lovely splenda in it. Blah. But it seems to calm it down a bit! Good Luck! Cindy
