You've got to remember that wanting food has alot to do with the head. I am 3 1/2 weeks out and the doctor put me on pureed foods after two weeks. When I stayed busy, it was o.k., but there were times when I was really wanting what my family was eating. They were really helpfull by going in the other room to eat when they ate at home and they ate out alot to begin with.(or at my moms). Did you do Wendy's chilli? That's O.K., I also tried a roasted chicken, and pureed the dark meat, yum. The best thing I've had so far. Good Luck. Barbara

Oh Lorrie, We are all on the same boat. My emotions are all out of whack and I can't even watch tv food commercials without getting pissed off. I know that I'm not hungry, but the fact that I can't have it is what drives me crazy. You are so not alone. I can't seem to get all my protein in because nothing tastes good to me. I do it cuz I have to. It has to get better. I go to the main site and read all the success stories and think they all went through this and survived and so will we. At least you're already on pureed. I am 2 weeks out and still have 1 more week of liquid diet. We'll get through this together. Keep in touch. ~Blessings, Julie

Julie- HOW do you get all your protein in? I am 1 1/2 weeks out and HATE the protein powder that my husband bought- being helpful! It is so grainy that I have to make myself get it all down- usually two sittings. I am about to give up on the powder and look for something else. Thanks for you imput! Kandice

The mental part of this surgery has been the hardest part for me so far. I'm an emotional eater, ( and I was a drive-thru junkie). I know I can't eat it, but I still want all that stuff out there. Food commercials, ads, all that stuff bothers me. I feel like I'm not normal anymore. (or what was normal for me before). A few things that have helped me, Reading all the success stories on this board, for sure. I have also made a list of the pros and cons of this surgery. The pros far outweigh the cons. I look at all the reasons I did this, and it helps me get through the tough times. If you're still on pureed foods, and you like eggs, (a great source of protein) you could try blending a hard boiled egg up with a little mustard and mayo. kind of tastes like a deviled egg. I know what you're going through, I ate a lot of pureed bean soup the first couple of weeks. Anytime you want to talk, let me know. Good Luck and God Bless Sara
