Period question (sorry guys :o)

I am 7 day PO and have always been regular. Well, today my period started again 2 weeks early. According to my scale at home I have already lost 16 pounds since my RNY could the rapid weight loss be the cause? Have any of you had problems with your period following the surgery?

It may be the strain from surgery. I have always been reg too. I had my surgery on Dec19 and have started right on time......yesterday. happy new year to me. Sorry I am not much help. Corinn

Mine has been going since surgery on 12/18! I've lost 30 pounds of extra iv fluid +12 pounds. I'm really getting frustrated. Bridget

Hey Everybody! Hope you are all feeling good. I havent started my period since surgery but was told to expect it very soon after no matter if it was time or not. Has anyone started birth control pills yet? I had to stop 4 wks. prior to surgery. Just wondering what is the recommendation to prevent pregnancy - pill, shot etc? If we are not absorbing all foods, will we absorb the pill?? I will try Dr. tomorrow but wondered what feedback, if any, you have from your surgeon or PCP. Thanks... again! Rebecca
