WHERE ARE ALL THE MEN POSTERS!?

Don't get me wrong, I like women too. But men are built differently aren't they. Don't men post or share? This is a big question for me. When I exercise I sweat buckets, now if I can only sip water a little at a time and not drink an 8 oz glass at once - isn't that reverse osmosis or something like that. Give me the news, please. If it weren't for my kids and wife, I'd forget the surgery and when it came time just lay myself down by the cool waters of Christ's love upon the green green grass of Spring, you know what I mean! Water, I love it=I gulp it-I swim in it= Tell me the truth!

I guess I'm not sure where they are on this message board, I do know there are a few more on the main message board, so if it truly men you want to hear from, you could check there and see who it out there. I so understand the sweating buckets, I have always been extremely hot, but just because you can't down 8 ounces in one shot, it is easier to drink the water than you would think. I am just about 2 weeks out from my Lap RNY and the first week I really focused on the "sipping" but now really I just take normal drinks, I have not had any problems with it, I do know when I have put too much in my mouth at a time because I am not able to swallow at all, so I just swallow little bits until my mouth is empty. The one thing that has helped me through this whole process is me putting God in total control of the whole process. As soon as I did that, I never questioned a single thing and it all was laid out in front of me "as smooth as butter". I was never even nervous right up to the surgery, I made sure I prayed over the surgeon, all the staff at the hospital and even welcomed God's presence in the operating room. In stead of wheeling me in on a bed or chair, I walked the whole way, right into the operating room, put myself on the surgery table and was comforted the whole time. I know it would not have been that way had I tried to get this process done on my own terms. Even being no yet 2 weeks out, I still would do it over again in a heart beat. My only regret? Not doing it sooner. Hope some of this helps. In HIS Grip ~ Maryann

Hi Bob. I'm not a man (clearly lol) but I can speak to your concerns about excercising. Before my surgery when I'd be excercising hard on the treadmill or elliptic machines at the gym I would sweat. What surprised me the most since having my surgery was that even though I get in close the the amount of water I'm supposed to my body hoards it, and I sweat very very very little when excercising. I had my surgery on 11/27 and I'm already able to go to town on the elliptical machine. What's also interesting is that even though I normally have a hard time getting in liquids (I get an uncomfortable pressure pain a lot when I drink), when I'm excercising I can put down 2 - 16 oz bottles of water in 30-60 minutes. I attribute this to the fact that a) I'm standding up I think it passes through my pouch easier than if I were to be sitting down; and b) the action motion of moving around vigorously makes it pass through quickly too so I don't get that annoying feeling at all. Anyway, I don't know if my experience will be the same as yours, but the one thing to consider is that your body behaves very differently after surgery than it did before which is pretty cool . Best of luck to you!!!!
