eating out
Hi,
I have not been out yet but I did attend a check-up at my surgeon today and there was a woman who said she has been out and ordered soup at Outback Steakhouse - I think it was cream of potato. My dietician said Wendy's chili too. There is always wonton soup broth too. What about eggs? Wish I had more suggestions for you! Rebecca
HI MILARGRO,
WHAT'S WRONG W/ CHEESE AND BROCCOLI SOUP? IT'S A GREAT SOURCE OF PR0TEIN W/ THE CHEESE AND BROCCOLI IS HIGH IN VITAMINS. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IF IT'S MADE W/CREAM, HIGH IN FAT.
DON'T FORGET, WE CAN ONLY EAT SO MUCH (NOT MUCH)
I USUALLY ORDER GRILLED CHICHEN, SHRIMP, LEAN PORK, LEAN BEEF W/ A VEGGIE. I'M ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE PROBLEMS TOLERATING THINGS, SO THESE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS.
HOPE THIS HELP,
DONNA, SFY
Milagro,
Here's what I've ate when we've out. At Olive Garden, minestrone soup, broth only. At Outback, tilapia and a little mashed potatoes. At Olive Garden again, I ordered manicotti, opened one of them up and ate about 1/3 of the filling (just cheeses and herbs with marinara). At Claim Jumper, black bean chili (didn't eat the steak in it).
I would stick with foods you've tried before. If you've had cream soups at home, then you may be good with them when you go out. Just beaware that sometime soups may have more sugar or fat in them, then those you eat at home.
When I went out at the early stages I just ate broth from chicken noodle soup or something like that. Theres onion soup also, when you are able Chilis and Applebees has a chicken enchilada soup. I don't know if you have a Shari's there but they have chicken chili soup that is awesome, at your stage now any soups is about all you can eat when you go out. I just eat off my husbands plate.
