I can't wait for pureed food next week - but I am not sure exactly what I will eat for 2 weeks of pureed food! What do you have planned? Here is my list so far... tuna or chicken w/lite mayo green beans w/ tomato juice hummus refried beans (fat free) cottage cheese with spaghetti or pizza sauce I do not want to eat baby food, but maybe I should try it ????? Anybody else?? If you think these are wrong, or too early to start the tuna or chicken please let me know. Can't wait to hear your plans and recipes!! Thanks for the support, Rebecca

Rebecca, I have been on purees for 3 weeks and have 8 more to go. Here are some of the things that Ive tried.. Fat free ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce Green beans with fat free cream of mushroom soup...its like green bean casserole without the french fried onions. 98% fat-free broccoli and cheese soup canned chicken with fat free chive and onion cream cheese samon with the same cream cheese bush's chili or wendys chili with fat free cheese on top. Hope this helps! -Courtney

My Nut says Wendy's chili also. I found that strange, but atleast I know I will be able to eat something if we have to eat while we are out sometime. I will move to pureed one week from today. I can not wait!

I got my list in the mail today with allowed foods on pureed, which i'll start tomorrow : my surgeon stressed regular mayo since light/fat free have sugar and will cause dumping. i'm allowed diced peaches, banana, pears-->in sugar free juice no beans, broccoli, cabagge due to the gas baked/mashed potato i would watch the spagetti sauce for sugar content! Happy munching! btw, i plan on putting diced peaces or sugar free strawberry preserves in my cottage cheese. never thought about spagetti sauce

Hey, thanks everyone for the suggestions! Wendys chili will be good! I hope to try fruit too, sounds good in the cottage cheese... better than spaghetti sauce (thanks for the sugar tip too!). Thanks again! Rebecca

I suspect the spaghetti sauce on cottage cheese will be a little like lasagna. I am looking forward to trying it.

I'm two weeks post-op, and not on a puree diet, per-se. But sometimes I grind it up for ease. My two favorites are: low-fat cottage cheese with chicken, pepper, small dash of curry powder. It makes a really tasty mousse. Starting yesterday I made some good old, home made chicken soup. EVERYTHING from scratch. Green beans, peas, carrots and chicken. My family enjoyed it, and I blended mine. it was really enjoyable Good luck!
