It's called lean dessert by aminogem. The # on the jar is 800-673-3727. It has 20 grams of protein in a scoop. The website on the jar is www.bsnonline.net. It's very decadently yummy!
Happy day to all. It is so gorgeous here!

Hi Maryann! Hi everyone!
I had surgery 12/18 and am on full liquids this week too, moving to pureed food next week. So far my favorites have been - cottage cheese and applesauce (diluted with water, add cinamon) because there is some chewing involved! I have also had some different soups - cream of shrimp, cream of potato - also, chicken with stars (minus the stars) has a good taste and its not thin but not creamy. I have also had yogurt (Dannon lite and fit) and sugar free lo carb hot chocolate. My grocery store has sugar free bomb pops - those are my treat!
I want to add fruit etc. to my protein shakes but have been afraid to just yet. I did buy some sugar free syrups with splenda from Cost Plus World Market - they had chocolate, raspberry, caramel, english toffee and hazelnut (don't worry - I didn't buy them all ) Not sure if you have one of those around.
If anyone has any good pureed recipes, please let me know!
Thanks for the support,
Rebecca
Maryann,
I had surgery on Dec. 13th. (RNY) I am down to my last week also on the liquid diet. I am really wanting something good to eat/chew.... I miss the spoon!!! I have tired some cream of chicken soup and chicken in stars. I also had a very small bit of peanut butter yesterday just because I wanted some protien and just wanted something small.
I have gone to other web sites and most of them said that the liquid diet is for 5 to 7 days after surgery. But, my doctor told me that I needed to be on the liquid diet for 3 weeks. I really don't understand the difference that are out there.
We will be there soon.. I am just counting down the days!!!! Good Luck!!!!

Rebecca,
I found at HEB in TX Peter Pan Peanut Butter. It was creamy with no added suger. The sugar content is only 2 grams. It is new label that also says Carb Sensitive Diets. I took a small baby spoon full of peanut butter and just took small licks. It was very good. I didn't have to much. But, tonight at the store I also found Campbells cream of Shrimp, cream of onion, and cream of chicken/mushroom soup. So, I am going to try that. The cream of onion has 4 grams of sugar so I am going to only have alittle and add some skim milk to it and see how I do. I am hoping that it works. I am really tired of the chicken broth, beef broth, and cream of chicken.
Good luck!!! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Maryann,
I just tried another soup I thought I would tell you about - I had to strain it but it was very flavorful. It was the Campbells special recipe kind that is in a big juice box like container, the flavor was Southwestern Corn. I diluted a bit and added unflavored protein powder, it was really good!!
Hello everyone,
I was told that the liquid diet had to be anything you could see through. Does Tortilla soup count? Is the Cream of Shrimp Soup clear too? Also, I was wondering about the 5-7 day thing. 5-7 days after surgery or after dismissal from the hospital? My surgeon can't see me until Jan. 4th which is 9 days after my surgery. Do they usually make you go on clear liquids longer than that? I was told a week, but due to the date I can see him, it will be 9 days. My stomach is "grumbling" all the time. I don't necessarily feel hungry, but it feels like hunger grumbles to me. At first I thought it was post surgery rumblings...but they do not seem to be going away. Thoughts?

Yes the liquid diet is pretty much clear. But, in the hosptial I was given Skim Milk and that is not clear. I have to be on a liquid diet for 3 weeks. Some doctors make it 3 weeks while another will say the 5-7 days (Mayo Clinic website also stated the 5-7). So, I really don't understand the whole 3 week thing. I was on the liquids for 9 days. Then that is when I started trying some cream soups that I mixed milk with. But, I still am mostly having the crystal light drinks, protein shakes, broth, and ceam soup with milk added to thin it out. I have tried to lick a small amount of peanut butter and did ok. (I only had about 5 licks)
But, usually the 5-7 days is from the day of surgery. I am 2 weeks/2 days out now and I don't feel the hunger that you are feeling. I have to remind myself that it is time to eat. But, then again I am sipping on the crystal light all day long too. So, that maybe taking care of any hunger. I do notice that I get full after about 5 to 7 bits of soup. I can also only drink about 3 oz of liquid at a time.
You might want to check with your doctor about the hunger grumbles. I am not sure if you are supposed to feel that. Because I thought they took that part away when they completed the surgery.
Hope this helps... Good luck with your recovery.... Ronda
