1 Week Post Op Today!

So I've made it through my first week post op. And I think I'm doing pretty good. I only took my pain meds twice after surgery. I'm also excited because I've lost 10 lbs already!!! People tell me that my face looks thinner and my belly doesn't stick out as much. I still have yet to see the changes in myself. I have to say that it has been sorta bumpy since my release from the hospital. Every now and then I just want to break down and cry because I can't eat the way the rest of my family does, or be able to eat the things that I want to. But hey, I guess in the long run this was best for me and I know that I won't live to regret it. MarLy

Lol, I took my whole prescription, plus refilled it. Congrats on the 10 pounds already. Make sure you keep getting your protein in. When you get down, just remember that in 6 weeks (or as advised by your dr) that you will be getting to eat regular food again, but now you have a tool to help you. I have been obsessed about food, and find myself watching the Food Network a lot to get ideas for fixing food later. I know I will be limited on amounts, but not taste. I want to find some really good recipes for seasoning chicken, etc.

I just broke down and started crying this afternoon. I had my surgery Dec. 18 and I am tired of broth and protein drinks already. I thought I would do okay. I knew this would happen so I am okay with it and just have to remember that things will be much better next week when I am on soft foods. So I am hanging in there I guess. I just wonder sometimes why I have always had a weight problem and had to have this surgery done. But I know things will be better and I will be having a lot of fun on those roller coasters and getting all those new clothes!!! Yeah!! Can't wait! Kristina
