2 wks post-op
I hope that I can encourage someone and also relieve some of their fears with approaching surgery. For some reason (prayer) I wasn't nervous when I went in to have my surgery. As a matter of fact, I remember them telling my daughter it was time and then the next thing I know I was waking up, it was OVER!! I was so happy although I was in expected PAIN. The nurses kept me comfortable and kept encouraging me to walk, which of course I did not want to do because the meds were making me so sleeeeepy! Anyway each time I got up to walk it became easier and less painful. I went home 2 days later and pretty much just followed the diet of broth, water and crystal light. I was always THIRSTY!!
Well the good news is 1 week later when I went in to have my drain removed (YEA!!) I had lost a whopping 19 lbs, I was so amazed and Happy!!! As of today, exactly 2 wks after my surgery I am back at work, feeling fine and 22 lbs lighter.
Except for the fact that I have no hunger, I wonder if I really had surgery ?!?!
Hi,
I am 2 days behind you. I had wls on 12/8. I am down about 10 pounds since that time, I gained about 10 while in the hospital. I am on liquids and then tomorrow I start soft solids.
Congratulations to you on the 22 pounds! I know you had to find stuff to wear to work. What a problem to have.
Keep us posted.
