I had the Lap RNY on friday and got home sunday. What a ride I tell you! Everyone was really nice to me and the "happy drugs" soon kicked in. Apperently I had a blood vessel burst during the stapling process and they had to burn it to stop the bleeding, so I woke up with a JP drain. Most of the pain is in the left upper area--I was told that's were the camara is during surgery-- and all the gas was trapped in my back. I could'nt get comfy at all the 1st night. And the nausea was a pain. HOWEVER, not to sound too much like a whiner, the 2nd day was all much better! I have lost 7.5 lbs since surgery and another 7lbs on the liquid diet I put myself on a week prior. The most amazing part is that I have NO feelings of hunger! My husband had some KFC chicken last night--right in front of me... he was so sorry and telling me how rude he was etc. but I just didn't feel hungry or tempted at all! Isn't that the best or what! I feel really proud of all of us here: It takes alot of guts to face your demons and go through a huge surgery to have a better life. Thanks for all the good vibes, prayers and words of comfort. May GOD bless you all and keep you safe!

Thanks so much for your post. My surgery is Thursday and I often wonder if I have what it takes. I put myself on a liquid diet earlier that my Dr asks, and I struggled with it and even broke it a few times. But today starts the 3 day liquid diet I was asked to do and I am motivated to do it right. I am so glad you are doing well. I hope you continue to gain strength each day. Tiarra

Great!.....I had my LAP RNY 2 wks ago today and I feel great, no hunger pains, nothing. In the first week I lost 19 lbs and only 3 in the 2nd wk but I will not let that discourage me. I haven't cooked much since my surgery and I have taken my kids out to fast foods quite often and it doesn't bother me either. They keep forgetting when they are eating and ask me "Mom, do you want some or a bite" and I remind them politely that I can't have that and then they apologize and say I'm sorry, I forgot. Well anyway I am so glad to have the surgery over and done with and now its time to get to LIVING!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!
