I am home
hi all,
I am home from the surgery and I did very well. But like some I am in a lot of pain on my left side. They put this pain ball on me that had tiny tubes inserted into my belly and last night I finally was able to pull it out. I think it caused most of the pain to begin with. I am not sure if they did the leak test on me, if they did I must of been out of it.
I guess now i will be asking a lot questions about post op. I have pain medicine but I still think it is not strong enough... now ... how do u fit all the protien stuff in and calcuim, etc into meals etc...
I weighed myself this morning and I was down 12 bs since my surgery on the 12th. I guess that is 12lbs in 3 days. Wow! would be great when i am feeling better and this loss keeps going like this. Ok love to hear from any of you post ops! And good luck and take care to all of you that have not yet had surgery.... God Bless and may tthe angels be with you all.
Marie
Oh Marie, I'm so happy to hear that you made it through surgery. How did the smoking thing go? Great news on the weight loss.
I drink "meal replacement drinks" (their protein drinks with all the vitamins in them) three times a day. And it between I drink crystal light and fruit 2 o. I really enjoy the broth.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that right now, just try to worry about getting in your liquids and protein. Worry about the other stuff in another week or two.
Take care and rest a lot.

I have been doing well with no smoking... I never thought I would kick that habit. But so far so good. I am really nervous about eating and everything and I can not get over the fact that I am dying of thrist. I am craving a 7-Up really bad as well as a pepperoni, sausage pizza. I am eating jello in the morning, some mashed potatoes in the afternoon and some broth at night. But I am sure how to get all the protien and water and vitamins in one day.
I am also experiencing hicupping, I am assuming I am eating too fast or to much. If someone has a menu type schedule they follow by daily this will help me a lot. The hospital was not too helpful with this, and said I can have liquids in the morning and pureed in the pm's. Have I mentioned there is a lot of gas, but no bowel movements???
Marie
Hey Marie,
I had surgery on the 13th and the same with gas. I feel it rumbling in my belly, but no bowel movements. I sip on water and protein shakes. I haven't gotten into a routine yet. My pepcid is in pill form. I can crush them I was told. I just chewed it last night . It was awful. I couldn't figure out how to crush them myself. I wanted to get all of my supplements in. All I really want to do it get rid of the jp drain. When I get rid of this thing everything will be .

Marie-
Glad you're home. I came home two days ago. My surgery was on the 13th. I'm in quite a bit of pain. I keep doing laps in the house lol Trying to pray that this gas will pass. It hurts! Have you noticed any breast tenderness?? I feel like I did when I got preg. They are super tender?? I've tried drinking my protein liquid and broth for my food. You should hopefully be able to get everything in. So, I'm told. I'm having a little of a rough time too. Congrats on the weight loss. I've lost 8lbs since I've had the surgery. i'm pretty excited because I lost some with my liquid diet too. I wish I could eat pureed food in the pm..they said not for two weeks for me. So, it's still just the liquid. I didn't get the tubes?? What is that for?
