I'm so hungry...

This two week post op is very difficult. I am really struggling with it. I have started every day and have made it until 2:30 and then as soon as I get home from work, I am so hungry that I grab the nearest food and eat. How will things be after surgery, will I be this hungry? Thanks, Bridget

Dear Bridget, I know you're having a difficult time with this pre-op diet, but it will get better. After surgery you will find that although you may have "head hunger" you won't actually feel hungry in your stomach. The reason we're having this surgery is to make the stomach smaller, so you won't be hungry. Good Luck and remember that it will be better. Joanne

hi Bridget I have had the same problem...Personally, for me, I know walking into my home at night is going to be a stressful time. Everyone gettting home, wanting dinner, shuttling my son, fixing dinner and it all makes me wanna eat..,,then I get bored in the evening and want to eat..I am working on this..I know I am eating emotional... good luck to you deb

Thanks for your support. I have lived life for so long just grabbing whatever I wanted to eat. Fast food was a daily. Now, I know I am going to have to get so much better at planning ahead. As a diabetic, when I get hungry I feel light headed, and get flushed, dizzy, and nauseous. So for many years, I have avoided getting hungry at all costs. Now I'm hungry and am having these symptoms, but I it is not easy to do anything about them, because I drink the liquids and I'm still feeling hungry, although the symptoms of low blood sugar do feel better, my stomach will still be growling. One week and counting. Bridget

Bridget - I am right there with you. This diet is more difficult than I thought it would be. I'm not used to having a growling stomach because, frankly, I rarely ever let myself get that hungry. I can't wait until I can get rid of this hunger!
