I got approved and December 6th is my operation

It has taken almost 10 months since I first went to Laurie Spaulding but after countless tests and retests, I am scheduled for my RNY this Wednesday. On November 17th I quit my job because my owner what abusing me and treating me ****ty and my operation was iin jeapody unless I paid my Cobra payment on December 1. I did and Blue Cross approved my surgery the same day!! I can't wait...I'm not sleeping and can't keep any food in my stomach. Life is going to be difficult because I can't afford to make another Cobra payment but I figured if I got the operation taken care of the post op care will be taken care of somehow. I'm not worried about it right now...I'm only worried about the surgery and my waking up after it. It is such an undertaking. I weight about 390 pounds and have been heavy all my life and for once I'd like to walk into Walmart to buy something off the rack or go to the Gap and buy some clothes. But most importantly, I want my self confidence to return because I know I'm good at my job and that some employer will see that in me and offer me the right position. Take care everyone. Hey. All I have to say is Congrats. I have a surgery scheduled for next wednesday as well. I Wish I wasnt able to eat, but I seem to have the inverse problem of "the last time" secnario.

Congrats Herb! I'm nervous as well..but you'll do fine. What I've defenitely learned on here is that there are so many understanding and wonderful people You'll have lots of support on here from all of us. I'm sorry you had a difficult time with your job, I've heard lots of horrible comments about mine. People just assume you do nothing but sit around and stuff your face 24/7. I can totally relate to how you want to shop at "regular" stores. I can't wait to just pick something off a rack..knowing it will fit. Hi Herb, Congrats on your date !! You'll be on the " losers bench " in just a few days !! Save a seat for me will ya?? LOL I'm so sorry that you had to go thru that at work.... discrimanation of any kind makes me sooo It will all work out...you will find another, even better job ( hopefully with the competiton and you can stick it in his face ) !!!! I am sooo with you on the shopping deal... it will be sooooo great to walk into walmart to buy clothes, and not have to pay double for them !! Hey Herbert, congrats on getting you surgery dat. Mine is tomorrow the 4th and at this point I just want to get it over with. I agree with you, I'm sooo sick of going to see Dr's. Well best of luck with your surgery. Dan
