post op 5 days!!!

I am now 5 days post op and starting to feel human again! Thankfully, the 'non-human' feeling only lasted a few days. I am eating a full liquid diet, no appetite though! A little nauseau, not bad. Has anyone else experienced insomnia? I am not taking the pain med, I don't need to, besides I only sleep for a short while with it and it gives me bazaar dreams I don't sleep much during the day, so I don't think that is the problem. Also, how about headaches? Maybe its no caffiene?

Welcome home and glad you are recovering nicely. My surgery is the 12th, and the last few days have been so hetic... the doctors office has given me such the run-around, I am not even sure if they will post pone the surgery until a later date. If they do I will be really upset. You would not believe the BS they have been giving me. Today, I broke down and cried....lots of good that did... now my eyes hurt like hell. I wasn't only crying because of all the BS they have been given me, but lately it seems I can cry at a drop of a hat. Did you get really emotional before surgery? I am wonder why I am being this way, when I should be so happy. So, weird, I am not normally this emotional. About the the headaches, it could be the caffiene, or the pain meds they gave you in the hospital. May want to call the Doc's office if it gets worse with the headaches and those bisarre nightmares. Marie, First of all, what state are you in and who is your doc? What kind of runaround and why would they want to put your surgery off? Remember, you are facing a life altering surgery. It is really, really scary and that is probably the reason for your mood swings. Just think, you will be on your way to 'thinland' soon. My doc puts his patients on a liquid diet for 10 days before surgery. I am now 8 days out and already have lost 27 pounds!!!!!
