I recieved my date- Dec. 18th. But as i was going through all my testing the gastro Dr. discovered I had the H-Pylori infection. So I had to wait 2 full months after the antibiotics were done to be retested. Apparently my Surgeon feels thetests will come back neg. this time so he set my date.

Kim, Hope your tests come back negative. I know the wait has been hard but it has been very important to take the antibiotics and get the H-Pylori infection out of your body. You don't want an ulcer in your new tummy. I am waiting for a Cardiac stress test on Nov. 20, 1996. If I can pass this my surgery will be Dec.12th. Which surgery are you having?

Hi Carolyn, Dr. Bono will decide on the 14th whether it will be lap or open RNY. I wish you the best throughout your surgery & healing. When i went to the cardiologist for my testing- he found abnormalities on my ekg -so off to all kinds of testing the following week. They discovered I had a slight valve problem and also a noticable heart murmor- I was shocked because of everything all the specialists kept finding and I had no clue to any of these things. I am thankful they require all these pre-op clearances otherwise down the road something could have happened. But all I am waiting on now is the retetst on the H -Pylori (with my fingers crossed).

Hi Kim, Congrats on getting your date. I also test positive for H. Phylori but after the antibotics my surgeon said that I didn't need to be re-tested. But at least you'll know for sure that everything is alright before your surgery. Good luck in the coming weeks. Joanne

Congratulations! My surgery is scheduled for the 18th also. One month from today, I can hardly believe it. I told my daughter it was our last tailgate pigout. That was a little sad, but the Buckeyes won, so all is well! Best of Luck to you! Bridget
