Hi everyone, I got a few questions. My surgery is scheduled for Dec., 12th. When the doc told me to buy high protien drinks he did not tell me what kind, nor how often. All he said was buy high protien drinks, lose 10 lbs and quit smoking. I do not know what to do. I called the office three times and asked about this and all three times they said they will get back to me! Still have not heard from them. Decemeber 8th I go in with a support person, to get weighed, measured, and pay up. So, I hope I am not missing out on something I am suppose to be doing, and they tell me I have to wait. That would totally suck. Anyone care to help me out, am I suppose to be on a liquid diet all this time???HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP! Please email me, because I often lose these posts...lol Marie...

Marie, Does your surgeon have a nurtrionalist on staff? If so can you contact them directly? A couple protein drinks my doctor recommends for the liquid phase are Optifast Nutra Powder and the Carnation Instant Breakfast for the Carb Conscious. Personally I am using Pro-Complex powder, Isopure Liquid, and Profect. Also another thing to remember is what taste good before surgery may not taste good after surgery, so don't buy to much. In terms of how many to buy you have to look at the protein content of each, you should get 60-80 grams daily. I hope this helps. Joanne

Oh Marie I forgot to ask. How are you doing on giving up smoking? I've been thinking of you. Joanne
