my date is approaching december 6 2006 @ ucla in CA, nervous and excited just a lot of emotions going on!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jennifer! I'm on 12/6 also! I hear you on the emotions thing....I found myself so overwhelmed with thoughts yesterday that I was in and out of tears several times. How I will change physically, things I need to get done around the house before surgery, things to get done at work before leaving for surgery, how much pain will there be, should I precook things now to freeze for family meals after surgery, what kind of clothes will I buy when I actually have real choices, will I still want the foods that I can't have.... sheesh! But the primary underlying theme... this is going to be an amazing life changing event!!! Congratulations! Sue

Hi Sue,I know what you mean, it is kind of weird! I find myself talking about the surgery all the time to my husband,to calm my nerves but i think i end up getting on his!!! It is nice to know there is someone else who is going to do the same surgery on the same day as me.As for preparing your pantry good for you!!I wish I was that prepared but with 3 little ones from 11 months to 10 years I think Iam going to be doing jello and broth for the first couple of weeks. Jennifer, Congrats on getting your date! I'm just a couple days before you. We're all going through the emotions but I know it will get better. This surgery is sooo worth everything we have to go through. I have little ones as well. They are going to spend some time at their grandparents for a couple weeks. Welcome to the Dec06 Board!!!
