Hello People I want to wish you all good luck on your upcoming surgery.I had wls on Dec 1 20003.my starting weight was 565 lbs(my highest weight was 598 lbs).....Today i weigh about 230 lbs,it is a daily struggle to keep the weight off and from not regaining but it is all worth it.Before wls I was homebound and didn't leave my home for over 7 years, and I mean I didn't leave it for anything.I didn't care if I lived or died and life was awful.Today I am always on the go and I hate being inside and I love life.I wasted so many years but at 46 years of age I feel like I am born again.Good luck to all of you. steve

Hi Hockey Mom - Are you scheduled for this coming December '06? I wish you all the best. Which procedure are you having? Mine is scheduled for 12-04-06, in Sedalia MO. I'm having the "laproscopic gastric by-pass" (roux-n-y) and I'm excited but really nervous at the same time. I've had open heart surgery, but got clearance from my cardiologist today (10-19-06)! So now all I have to do is "hurry up and wait" Let us all know how you're doing. Phyllis
