Finally picked Surgery Date
Hey Joanne,
Greetings from Va! I am glad that you have come here. I am anxious to meet others and see how they are holding up. Right now I am overly excited and very scared at the same time. You have great parents! I am only telling my mother about the surgery. I don't think that my dad( who is thin) and his new wife( whole other story) would understand. They would say , well duh, stop eatting. Anyways, sounds like you have a great support system in place. Please know that you can always vent or bounce things this way. Take care! Oh and Congrats! Cindy
Joanne,
Bravo! We're comrads...meaning we're having our surgery on the same date! Where in California are you? My sister lives in Montrose, just outside of Los Angeles. I'm planning on coming out there perhaps next summer...that is if I don't get to take my daughter to Spain!!
Which procedure are you having? I'm having laproscopic gastric by-pass. By the way, I'm 54 years old, have a daughter 12 and a son 32! They've never seen me slender, so not only is this my gift to myself, it's my gift to them
A friend of mine told me something that I've really held onto...
Your surgeon was hand picked by you, right? Well, put your fears to rest because God doesn't make mistakes. He wouldn't have put this person in your life only to see you fail. You will be successful. Just think, by the time your children are old enough to know about what you've done, you will be the slender you!
Good Luck,
Phyllis
Hello, all! I'm Dawn, 42 years old and 255 lbs. A lightweight by WLS standards. My surgery date is December 1st! I left my date to chance. I had worried so much about being approved that I promised myself that if I did get approved, I'd take whatever date my surgeon gave me. And he gave me December 1. Glad to part of the 12/2006 losing crowd!
take care!
