My 7 month anniversary is today! I am 36, 5'4", and my starting weight was 259. Today I weighed 171, so that's a loss of 88 pounds. I was in a size 24 and now I am in mostly 12s and some 14s. It is so fun! I have 41 pounds to go to reach my goal and I know I'm going to get there. The weight loss has slowed to a snail's pace, but surely with all the exercise I'm doing, I will get there! Congratulations, everybody! Sherry

I am 49 years old - the big 50 is coming up Sept 1. I'm 5'6". I had my surgery Dec 5 and weighed 277. Yesterday I went in for hernia repair and weighed in on the hospital scale at 177!!!! 100 lbs exactly!! That was a huge moment, and made the nastiness of going back into surgery a little easier to take. Congrats to everyone for the tremendous success you are reporting here! We are so fortunate to have this new chance at quality of life. And wearing belts IS so much fun!! Lisa

Dan, At my 6 week check up, I had only lost 2 lbs. When my surgeon walked in the room I was in tears. Since I was doing everything correctly she suggested that I may be retaining water, and that I see my PCP and get some water pills. Which I did and they have help immensly. Perhaps your wife might want to check that out. I hope I help alittle. Lynn

Congratulations Sharon! I know what you mean about the water. I really don't drink water the way I should. I started drinking Propel and I take in a lot more of that then I do the water. It's just easier going down when there's a little flavor involved.

I'm 32 years old, 5'6 and 7 months ago I weighed 260 lbs. My BMI was 42 and I wore size 20/22. I've lost 86 lbs since my surgery and my BMI is 28. I have only 4 lbs to go to reach my goal of 170 lbs. I now wear a size 10/12. I'd really like to hear from others on how they're doing. Let's get some stats.

Dear Dan, I'm really writing just to give support... I have been through several stalls, one at one month for two weeks, one at three months for two weeks, and one at five months for six weeks. It is very frustrating, but it does happen. If her surgeon is not concerned yet, it is probably nothing to worry about. You might want to be sure she is eating ENOUGH. Sometimes our bodies go into starvation mode when we are not getting enough food, and we stop losing weight. You can use fitday.com to track intake if you don't already. I wish you and your wife the best! Pat

Dear Petty, You have done wonderfully!! Congratulations! I wish I had done so well. I am down about 83 lb. as of today. I started at 304... The scale is finally moving again after a six week stall! You are an inspiration to us all. Have a great day! HUGS, Pat

I totally agree with you! I ran into the same issue, explain to me how I can wear XL capri at New York and Co, Misses 16 out of Sears, but in Lane Bryant I still wear 20-22, that is crazy! I have no idea how they cut their clothes, but I am glad I don't have to shop in there anymore!

Surgery 12/16/05 -- I'm really sorry for your unemployment and money issues. As for the eating, I do well most of the time but for the past month or so I have been having problems with overeating (and wanting to eat). You sound like you're still eating well and not overeating, so good for you. Sounds like your emotional baggage is not interfering with your food choices. Good for you. Keep it up. Linda
