To be honest I have not lost any hair, that I know of, I keep my hair in extensions, b/c of this reason. Anywho, just wanted to offer support and my nut says that hairloss is related to lack of protein (shrugs) good luck to you.

I have little nubby new hairs growing in at the roots making my hair stand up..I had it cut short when it was falling out, now I'm looking like little Orphan Annie if I don't take the hot blow dryer and flat brush to it and smooth it down. I wish I hadn't cut it.
I did notice when I started eating more and adding a little fat and carbs (LITTLE BIT) and started eating more meats, my hair stopped falling out and my skin, and nails began to look better too.
I take one Centrim chewable a day and drink one protein shake a day and take my mega B12 dot every three days. I have some calcium chews, and need to start eating them, I know..But I drink a glass of skim milk and use it in my protein shake with a splash of coffee in it, and eat icecream everyday..Klondike no surgar added krunch bar..and love cottage cheese, eat that as a snack almost every day. I think a balanced diet is best and more natural than trying to cut out the fat and carbs completely..they have nutrition value too.
I eat anything I want in moderation except for pastries, candy and chips..well, I might grab a small hand full of chips on rare occasions, but would never make a habit of it. I have my son keep his chips in his bedroom now, so I haven't grabbed any in weeks..

Hi I have a lot of hair loss and dye my hair with out it really changing the amount of hair I lose.
Also, I know that with any major surgery, hair loss is almost expected... so don't blame yourself for the losing hair... it might be connected to your diet, but most likely it would have happened at this stage post op anyway

Just checked your profile. I bet it's time for you to have a new picture, too. It's been almost six months. Come on and update that picture!!!

I've done everything I'm supposed to do and I'm on my third round of hair loss. I've colored it twice and haven't noticed a change after doing so. My texture has changed, but I do have some new growth. I hope I'm about at the end of the hair loss stage! I know we are all sick of that part of it!

Thanks! I have to look at pictures to see the difference. I still see the much larger lady in the mirror. Thanks for the compliment!

I really think the hair loss has to do with hormones more than anything. I had just gotten mine in line and my hair had really thickened up before surgery. Since surgery I have lost some but have never had a handful fall out or anything. I have colored my hair every 6 weeks and have not had any problems with it falling out more. I have thin fine hair to start with but seem to have stopped loosing hair. You might get your hormones tested - you can do saliva tests through http://www.salivatest.com/ or have your doctor order them. Be sure to have all 3 estrogens tested along with progesterone and free testosterone. There are nice disappearing creams that compounding pharamists can make to take care of any deficiencies. A good book to read is "Hormone Hell to Hormone Well".
