Hi Tonya - I am 2 years 2 months as of today and I have been at at standstill and even gained - today was my first day back on the wagon ( I had RYN)- I started off by seeing my surgeon and getting the ball rolling with him ordering labs and GI series- I too had financial pinches with no insurance coverage- but thhank GOD I am working full time and "permanent" as apposed to being a temp for the last 4 years. Have you tried the platau buster diet - I know it's lurking here - remembering protein first and lots of water - I even statred counting "points" with my coworkers who are on WW - PM me I am here!

Can anyone give me advise of how to re-teach/relearn all the things we are so excited about when we first start? How do you recapture the enthusiasm? Also any tips on diets..as in eating habits not "fad diets" and what got you motivated so far along in your journey?
Here's a little history on me!
I am 2 years and 2 months post op. I feel better than I have in years. I am down about 100-107 pounds depending on when I get on the scale...been fluctuating about 7 pounds for the past few months. Most of my loss happened in the first year. Last year was very hard personally for many reasons. However it is a new year and my dedication is higher. I know have insurance that covers fills and now am trying to find a Dr in my new home area to do the fills. (moved fall 07) I have been slow at my last 60 pounds of loss due to financial pinch with no insurance coverage, i.e. no fills and/or not enough of proper adjustments due to lack of funds to get proper adjustments.
Now here I am next month will have new ins that will kick in and I feel I can start on my journey again. However I still slim from time to time...of course it is my fault, eating to fast, to much, or the wrong thing. So I need to get my head back in the game.
At this point I have had a pretty loose band at only about 5 cc in a 11 cc band wince September 07. So I really have been at a stand still, sometimes gaining more and loosing (it is the holiday sweets I have the most trouble with....something's never seam to change)...you know those 7 pounds I was referring too earlier-see above. J
Please give me ideas...if you share a similar story please share!
Thanks
TC

Hi Joe,
Losing weight is very hard with or without surgical assistance. for most of us the first step and the steps to keep us successful are to get our heads fixed and keep them healthy. I started counseling a year before my surgery because I know for me that I could not possibly be 330 lbs because I liked the taste of food. I am 2 years out and I finally realized that I don't like the taste of most foods. I cover them up with condiments. I like the taste of Mayo, Blue cheese dressing, butter and cake frosting. I used these things to make the food go down easier because I needed to feed something deep inside of me.
I still eat the wrong things at times but now I know why. I can make a choice in my head and I have a tool that helps my body reject too much of the wrong things. I can't beleive that I'm 100 lighter than I was but I still have more to go. I will get there one day because I use my tool and my counseling (most of the time). I guess that I am trying to tell you that a psych eval may not be enough to help you reach your goal. Try counseling to see if that can help you push pass the desire to feed your body when it's not hugry.
Just my thoughts. Good luck to you.
Yolanda's still losing
Topic: Back again
I have not been around for a while but I am back. Today I made a visit to the Drs office and had a fill. Iam up to 9cc now. Its been about a year since I went to see the doctor and I was at 8.5 cc. When he took out the fill I had I only had 8cc. Last year I weigh in at 301, today 291... I didnt really try to lose all that time, just did not want to go pass 301. On 1-15-08 I deceided to try it again. My weight was at 298 then... So here i go again.

Congrats to both of you for taking charge of your well being. As we get further out from our life changing WLS, we must remember health is everyone's job number one!
I am within 15 pounds of my goal and still striving to reach it. I have found the type of protein helps. MORE FISH MORE FISH MORE FISH
Keep communicating. It is a great source of encouragement!

Topic: RE: A HUGH QUESTION????????
I am having upper and lower abdominoplasty AND work on my pubic area Jan 25. I was told by the nurse and plastic surgeon that the pubic area is the one part of the body which most people do not get the satisfaction they truly desire, so they warnaed me. But since I am less than 1/2 my original weight at only 5 ft 3, there is ALOT of excess skin in the entire area.
Forget your gyn, see a plastic surgeon for a consultation on the problem.
