Topic: RE: 1 yr. anniversary yesterday!!!
Congrats to the both of you girls. I will be celebrating my 1 yr re-birthday next saturday, the 16th and I can ditto on everything u guys said. The energy level is wonderful, and no more "fat jeans" as u put it. Actually, I would never wear jeans a year ago and before that, but now I own about 7 pairs. I am 105lb down and at goal and feel absolutely gr8 I get a lot of people who used to know who I was just pass me by a lot, they are not sure it's me, and if they don't know I had the surgery, they may think I am ill or something!! I love hearing those words "you are too skinny" don't lose anymore, and all I say is "thank you". Anyway, here's to another healthy and skinny year, and we need to stay focused on everything we do and eat. Love, Joanne

Happy Re-birth and happy birthday Cheermom! I like you am celebrating a birthday this month along with my rebirth, and I can't believe the results I have had with my surgery. I know it sounds corny but I really want to shout it from the rooftops! I have never in my life been this healthy (or this small!) and I feel fantastic! Congratulations everyone and keep smiling!

I can't believe the difference a year makes. I am feeling so much better, and looking so much better helps too! I feel like a whole new person with all this energy and stuff. It's definitely a lot easier chasing after my 3 year old. Congrats on your loss (doesn't that sound weird?) It's only getting better...

Good morning Diona.. During the months of September and October things REALLY slowed down for me and I thought my weight would never move onward.. I started the Body for Life program at the end of Oct with some other members of OH in order to stay in control during the the holidays and have consequently lost 10 pounds in the last month.. woo hoo!! I thought I was done loosing.. but I guess not! The BFL program- Bill Phillips.. http://www.bodyforlife.com/ is an exercise and a light nutriotion program.. I'm doing the original version. I felt like I was in a rut so this program has been a nice change. I was doing aerobics 5 times a week for an hour at a time.. whereas BFL only calls for 20 minutes of intense cardio 3x a week, and 40 minutes of strength training 3x a week.. I feel like it's a lot less then what I was doing but I have amazing results.. my body has completely changed it's shape. The BFL nutrition plan calls for 6 meals a day (for 6 days a weeks with one day off) always coupling protein with good carbs.. which is what my nut says to do anyways.. I just improvise with protein shakes and make sure my protein is higher then my carbs at the end of the day. The program lasts for 12 weeks.. they actually have a wonderful Success Journal that you can get at the book store that takes you through the journey.. all 83 days of it. I'm currently on day 42 and can't wait to see what the next 41 days have in store for me.. food for thought.. April R

Topic: RE: Are you too thin now?????
I have been getting that from almost everyone. People are so scared that I am going to waste away to nothing (my poor grandmother especially). I am 5'4" and I currently weigh 138. I think that I look nice, but everyone keeps telling me that I look sick. I think people just get used to seeing us heavier that when we do lose the weight and get down to our ideal weight it is just a shock to people and they think we are now too thin. I don't let it bother me because I know that I am healthier and I LOOK GOOD!

Topic: 1 yr. anniversary yesterday!!!
I am so excited about what this surgery has done for me that I had to tell SOMEONE!! I went to my 1 yr. check-up yesterday and my doc could't wait to put me in his computer. He said that I have lost 93% of my excess body weight and I am in great health! It's no wonder that I feel like a whole new person living someone else's life. I am down 130 lbs, have no more "fat jeans", and I have energy to burn. Thank you Dr. Chlysta!

Topic: RE: Contemplating This Past Year's Journey
Congrats to u Gina and happy re-birthday. You have come a long way to jeopodize anything now so hang in there and just get back to basics. It's hard for us now, I know, I haven't cheated once but sometimes the feelings are there, and even unecessary extra hunger pains, but I know I have to stay focused and remember where I came from and never want to go back. I am coming up to my 1 year anniversary on the 16th, 105lbs down and at my goal of 125 and 12lbs below the docs goal of 137, and I'm feeling great. I went from a size 18-22 to a 4-6. No more sleep apnea or snoring, or shortness of breath or low self esteem or self hatred. I am totally reborn, just like you. This is a wonderful tool that we have been given, but we also have to remember we didn't have our heads operated on and that's where we need to stay focused. I wish u much successful for another gr8 year and a happy and healthy new year also. Take care Best regards, Joanne
